Özet
Pronouncing places and characteristics of letters have been topics of discussion from the first terms. Both pronouncing places and pronouncing times have been handled by reading scholars and first term linguistic scientists. Even in this historical term, discussions and debates on some specific letters have been made. Cuhd al-muqill, which was compiled by Muhammed b. Ebi Bekr al-Mar.asi (o. 1145/1732) is accepted prime works of tajweed scholar. Marasi started seventeen pronouncing places for letters. To support this view, he quoted from a lot of sources. On the subject of characteristics of letters, he researched it in detail, and he didn't continue with the exact quotations, so he put forward his own opinions. He also got help from Mekki b. Ebi Talib's classification. In this article, after it was quoted his opinions, it was handled Mar.asi's comments and evaluations which are essential both in his historical period and at present. With the help at Cuhd al-muqill it is presented aliveness on pronouncing letters' places and characteristics.
