Folkloric Style Features of Ottoman Prose

In this study, the usage of folkloric style will be analysed in the Ottoman prose texts which have not been subject to research before. The purpose of the research is to determine the characteristics of folkloric style with defining word groups and sentence structures in the selected texts. From here, we will try to find answers to the question of which features of a folkloric style a text indicates. In addition, the correctness of the view that folkloric style is used only in the texts of the establishment period will be questioned which is expressed as a wrong information in some works related to the subject. Also, it will be examined that texts which shows folkloric features can be followed until the last period of Ottoman literature. In this frame, prose texts belonging to different periods and types are evaluated in terms of stylistic features and an examined the properties they carried. In the study, data were taken over the sampling method, and enough sections were included in the study to give an idea about 90% of the texts. As a result of this study, it will be evaluated what these results will mean.
