Hatay'ın ekoturizm potansiyeli ve yerel halkın ekoturizme bakış açısı

Dünya çapında etkinlik olarak görülen Turizm, deniz-kum-güneş üçlüsü dışında bünyesinde birçok alternatif turizm çeşidini barındırmaktadır. Bunlardan en önemlisi olan ve sektörde en çok ihtiyaç duyulan ekoturizmdir. Turizm sektöründe ekoturizm ile ilgili sunulan ürünler ve faaliyetler ziyaretçiler için popüler bir turizm olgusudur. Bu çalışmanın amacı Hatay'ın var olan ekoturizm potansiyeli incelenmek ayrıca yörede ikamet eden yerli halkın ekoturizm hakkında algılarının incelenmesidir. Çalışmanın alanı olan Hatay, coğrafi konumu, sahip olduğu doğal güzellikler ve içinde barındırdığı tarihi ve kültürel değerler ile potansiyeli yüksek bir bölge özelliğini taşımaktadır. Hatay, Akdeniz'in Doğu kıyısında olması ayrıca farklı topoğrafya şekillerine sahip olmasıyla deniz turizmine ek olarak ekoturizm türleri açısından da yüksek potansiyele sahip bir bölgedir. Çalışmanın yönteminde nicel veri yöntemi olan anket tekniği kullanılmıştır. Anket, Hatay'da ikamet eden yerli halkı kapsamaktadır. Çalışmada güvenilirlik, Kruskal Wallis-H, Mann-Whitney U, temel belirleyici istatistikleri, ortalama ve çoklu yanıt testleri kullanılmıştır. Ankette 255'i erkek ve 281'i kadın olmak üzere 536 veri kullanılmıştır. Sonuç olarak Hatay bölgesinde var olan ekoturizm potansiyeli değerlendirilmiş ve analizler yapılmıştır. Yapılan değerlendirmeler ve analizler sonucunda ankete katılanların ekoturizmi tercih etmelerinde doğa ile baş başa olmanın ve yörenin doğal güzelliklerini öğrenmenin etkisi olduğu görülmüştür. Ayrıca Hatay'ın ekoturizmine yönelik eksiklerinin yerel halka yeterince tanıtımının yapılmaması ve halkın ekoturizm konusunda bilinçsiz/duyarsız oluşu olduğu görülmüştür. Hatay ekoturizm aktiviteleri yönünden yüksek potansiyele sahip olduğu ve yerel halkın ekoturizm kavramı, yörenin ekoturizm kaynaklarının özellikleri ve yörenin ekoturizm potansiyeli hakkında yeteri bilgiye sahip olmadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

Tourism, which is regarded as a worldwide event, has many alternative tourism types except for the sea-sand-sun trio. The most important of these is the most needed ecotourism in the sector. The products and activities related to ecotourism in the tourism sector are a popular tourism phenomenon for visitors. The aim of this study is to examine Hatay's existing ecotourism potential, and to examine the perceptions of local residents about ecotourism. Hatay, which is the area of the study, has a high potential region with its geographical location, natural beauties and historical and cultural values it contains. Hatay is a region with high potential in terms of ecotourism types in addition to sea tourism, as it is on the east coast of the Mediterranean, and also has different topographic forms. In the method of the study, the questionnaire technique, which is the quantitative data method, was used. The survey covers the indigenous people residing in Hatay. Reliability, basic determinant statistics, Kruskal Wallis-H, Mann-Whitney U, mean and multiple response tests were used in the study. In the survey, 536 data were used, of which 255 were male and 281 were female. As a result, the potential of ecotourism in the Hatay region has been evaluated and analyzed. As a result of the evaluations and analyzes, it was observed that being alone with nature and learning the natural beauties of the region had an impact on the preference of ecotourism of the participants. In addition, it is seen that the shortcomings of Hatay's ecotourism are not being adequately promoted to the local people and that the public is unconscious / insensitive about ecotourism. It was concluded that Hatay has high potential in terms of ecotourism activities and the local people do not have sufficient information about the concept of ecotourism, the characteristics of the region's ecotourism resources and the ecotourism potential of the region.
