Ebû 'Ubeyd el-Kâsım b. Sellâm ve Kitâbu'l-Ems̱âl adlı eserinin tahlili

İslamiyetin gelişi ile sözlü kültürden yazılı kültüre geçiş yapan Arap milleti Arap dili alanında birçok eser vermeye başlamışlardır. Bu sebeple olsa gerek Hicri 2. ve 3. asır birçok araştırmaya konu olmuş, halen de ilgi çekmeye devam etmektedir. İslâmî ilimlerin teşekkülünün gerçekleştiği bu dönemde mesel alanında da birçok eser telif edilmiştir. Ebû 'Ubeyd ̣el-Ḳâsım b. Sellâm'ın Kitâbu'l-Emsâl adlı eseri bu dönemde yazılmış en önemli eserlerden birisidir. Ebû 'Ubeyd, ̣bu eserinde meselleri konularına göre taksim ederek yeni bir metot kullanmıştır. Bütün bunlar dikkate alınarak Ebû 'Ubeyd'in Kitâbu'l-Emsâl adlı eseri bu araştırmanın konusu olarak tercih edilmiştir. Bu çalışmada öncelikle Ebû 'Ubeyd'in yaşadığı dönem hakkında genel bilgiler verilmiş, hayatı ve ilmî hayatı üzerinde durulmuştur. Ebû 'Ubeyd, genel olarak dilciliği ile tanınmakla birlikte sadece tek bir alan ile yetinmeyip pek çok farklı alanda eserler telif ettiği görülmüştür. Ebû 'Ubeyd'in eserinde dikkat çeken en önemli özellik eserini konularına göre taksim etmiş olmasıdır. Bunun yanında meselleri açıklarken ayet, hadis ve şiir ile birlikte sahabe sözü, tâbiin sözü ve önemli şahsiyetlerin sözlerini kullanması eserin en önemli özelliklerindendir. Bu çalışmada, eserde kullanılan bu tür özellikler tespit edilerek takip edilen metot belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Sonuç olarak Ebû 'Ubeyd'in bu alana olan katkısı ortaya çıkarılmaya çalışılmıştır.

With the emergence of İslam Arab Nation who transited from oral literature to written literature started to produce plenty of literary works in the field of Arabic language. Probably for this reason, Hijri 2nd and 3rd has been subject to a lot of studies and is still a matter of interest. In addition to Arabic language, many works related to proverbs were also compiled in this episode in which İslamic Sciences were formed in this aforementioned time. This work of Abû 'Ubayd el-Ḳâsım b. Sellâm named Kitâbu'l-Emsâl is one of the most prominent works written it this era. Abû 'Ubayd used a new method in which he divided proverbs into categories according to their subjects. Regarding these facts mentioned above, The work of Abû 'Ubayd named Kitâbu'l-Emsâl has been chosen as the subject matter of this research. Primarily, general information about the time Abû 'Ubayd lived in has been given and his life in general and scholary life have been emphasized in this research. Although Abû 'Ubayd is mostly known as a linguist, he did not only study languages but also produced many works in various fileds. The most important feature in his work is his division of Kitâbu'l-Emsâl into categories according to their subjects. Besides that, his utilization of verses from the Qur'an, hadiths, poems, quotations from Prophet Muhammad's companions, quotations from the Tabi'un and prominent people while explaining is one of the most important features of his work. In this study the method followed in Kitâbu'l-Emsâl has been tried to be decided by determining these kinds of features. Consequently, the contributions of Abû 'Ubayd to this field have been tried to be stated.
