Rekürran aftöz stomatitde serum demir, total demir bağlanma kapasitesi, B 12 vitamini ve folik asit düzeyleri

Rekürran aftöz stomatit oral kavitenin en sık rastlanılan ülseratif hastalığıdır. Her hasta muhtemel sebepler yönünden araştırılmalıdır. Demir, B12 vitamini, folik asit eksiklikleri ve total demir bağlama kapasitesindeki artış predispozan faktörler olabilir. Bu çalışmada, rekürran aftöz stomatiüi 64 hasta ve kontrol grubu olarak 38 kişi serum demir ve total demir bağlama kapasitesi, 42 kişi serum B 12 vitamini ve folik asit yönünden tarandı. Serum demir düzeyi hasta grupta % 57.8 ve kontrol grubunda % 31. 5 düşük bulundu. Total demir bağlama kapasitesi hasta grupta % 9.3 ve kontrol grubunda % 5.2 artmış bulundu. Serum B12 vitamin düzeyi hasta grupta % 21.8 ve kontrol grubunda % 7.1 düşük bulundu. Serum folik asit düzeyi hasta grupta % 3.1 ve kontrol grubunda % 2.3 düşük bulundu.

Recurrent aphthous stomatitis the most common ulcerative disease of the oral cavity. Each patient should be evaluated for possible causes of recurrent aphthous stomatitis. Deficiency of iron, vitamin Bi2> folic acid and increased total iron - binding capacity may be predispozing factors. In this study, 64 patients with recurrent aphthous stomatitis and as control groups 38 persons for iron and total iron- binding capacity, 42 persons for vitamin B12 and folic acid were evaluated. Subnormal serum iron levels were found in 57.8 % of patients with recurrent aphthous stomatitis and 31.5% of control groups. Levels of total iron- binding capacity were increased in 9.3% of patients and 5.2% of control groups. Subnormal vitamin B12 levels were found in 21.8% of patients and 7.1% of control groups. Subnormal serum folic acid levels were found in 3.1% of patients and 2.3% of control groups.
