Kur'an'ın anlaşılmasında Câhiliye Dönemi'ne dair verilerin önemi

Bu çalışma, Kur’ân ayetlerinin doğru anlaşılmasında tarihsel bağlamın, özellikle de Cahiliye Dönemi'nin ne derecede belirleyici olduğunu ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. Kur’ân her ne kadar evrensel ilkelere sahip ilahî bir hitap olsa da hitap ettiği ilk muhatap kitlenin sosyokültürel ve tarihî gerçeklikleri göz önünde bulundurulmadığında birçok ayet eksik veya hatalı anlaşılabilmektedir. Bu doğrultuda Kur’an-ı Kerim’i anlamak, sadece lafzî veya gramatik düzeyde bir çaba değil; aynı zamanda onun indirildiği dönemi, muhatap aldığı toplumu göz önüne alarak kavrama çabasını da içerir. Bu çalışmada, ilk olarak Cahiliye toplumu ile doğrudan ilişkili olduğu tespit edilen ayetler belirlenip analiz edilmiştir. Bu analiz neticesinde tarihsel veriler olmadan tam anlamıyla anlaşılamayacak ayetler tespit edilmiştir. Tespit edilen bu ayetler üzerinden Kur’ân’ın tarihsel zemini ile anlamı arasındaki güçlü bağ ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu doğrultuda, dört bölümden oluşan bu çalışmanın birinci bölümünde Kur’ân’ın indiği coğrafya ve ekonomik ortama dair ayetler ele alınmıştır. İkinci bölümde Mekke civarındaki dînî ve itikâdi ortam ele alınırken çalışmanın üçüncü bölümünde Arapların ibadetleriyle ilgili ayetler incelenmiştir. Çalışmanın dördüncü ve son bölümünde ise coğrafyadaki sosyal hayat ve Câhiliye Araplarının zihin dünyası ele alınmıştır. Çalışmada ayet eksenli bir başlıklandırma yapılmamış, bunun yerine anlam bütünlüğünü esas alıp meseleleri konu bütünlüğü içerisinde ele alan bir yöntem tercih edilmiştir. Bu yöntemle Kur’ân ayetlerini bir kurgudan bağımsız olarak tek tek açıklamaktan ziyade, çalışmada yer alan ayetleri bağlamı içerisinde değerlendirilmek amaçlanmıştır. Bu sayede hem metnin takip edilebilirliği daha kolay hale gelecek hem de konuya dair bütün bütüncül bir perspektif yakalanmıştır. Özetle, Kur’ân’ın evrensel mesajı ile tarihsel bağlamı arasında bir çelişki değil, tamamlayıcılık ilişkisi bulunduğu ve tarihsel arka plan bilgisinin, tefsir faaliyetinde vazgeçilmez bir unsur olduğu vurgulanmıştır.

This study aims to reveal to what extent the historical context, especially the Jahiliyyah period, is decisive for the correct understanding of the Qur'anic verses. Although the Qur'an is a divine address with universal principles, the meaning of many verses can be interpreted incompletely or incorrectly when the sociocultural and historical realities of the first audience are not taken into account. In this regard, understanding the Holy Qur'an is not only a verbal or grammatical endeavor, but also an effort to comprehend it by taking into account the period in which it was revealed and the society it addressed. In this study, the verses that were found to be directly related to the Jahiliyya society were analyzed and the verses that cannot be fully understood without historical data were identified. Through these identified verses, it is tried to reveal the strong link between the historical background of the Qur'an and its meaning. In this context, in the first part of this study, which consists of four chapters, verses about the geography and economic environment in which the Qur'an was revealed will be discussed. The second part deals with the religious and theological environment around Mecca, while the third part analyzes the verses related to the worship of the Arabs. The fourth and final part of the study deals with the social life in that geography. However, the study is not titled in terms of verses; instead, a method based on the unity of meaning and dealing with the issues within the integrity of the subject has been preferred. Thanks to this method, it is aimed to evaluate the Qur'anic verses within the context of the verses in the study rather than explaining them one by one independently of a fiction. In this way, both the followability of the text will become easier and a holistic perspective on the subject will be captured. As a result, it is emphasized that there is a complementary relationship between the universal message of the Qur'an and its historical context, not a contradiction, and that historical background knowledge is an indispensable element in tafsir activity.
