Kur'an'a oryantalist yaklaşım-Richard Bell örneği-

Oryantalistler tarafından yapılan çalışmaların Kur'an'a yaklaşımları değişik şekillerde alandaki çalışmaları etkilemektedir. Bu sebeple söz konusu çalışmaların bilimsel ölçütler çerçevesinde ortaya konulması gerekmektedir. Çalışmamızda Richard Bell'in Kur'an üzerine yapmış olduğu çalışmalar ve özellikle Kur'an meali ekseninde Kur'an'a yaklaşımı ele alınmıştır. Bu doğrultuda Bell'in eser ve makaleleri, eserleri hakkında yapılan araştırmalar ve oryantalistlerin Kur'an ile ilgili çalışmaları araştırmamıza kaynaklık etmiştir. Bell'e göre Hz. Peygamber (sav) hiç vahiy almamış, Kur'an'ı önceki kutsal kitaplardan edindiği bilgilerle ve kendi kariyeri sürecinde oluşan ihtiyaçları doğrultusunda kendisi oluşturmuştur. Hz. Peygamber'in (sav) vefatından sonra Kur'an kısa sürede bir araya getirilse de çoğaltılması sonucu oluşturulan Kur'an bir araya getirilen Kur'an ile aynı değildir. Bu nedenle Kur'an'ın aslına, Hz. Peygamber'in hayatı ile ilgili tarihi veriyle âyetleri karşılaştırmak sûretiyle ulaşılabilir. Bell Kur'an hakkında iddialarını bu şekilde öncelikle tarihsel açıdan temellendirme yoluna giderek, Kur'an'a yaklaşımını edebi tenkit üzerine yoğunlaştırmıştır. Bu doğrultuda âyet sonlarına fâsıla uyumu arayışıyla özellikle Mekkî sûrelerde, konu bütünlüğü ve tarih uyumu arayışlarıyla Medenî sûrelerde âyetlerin sıralamalarını değiştirmiştir. Bu yaklaşımla sûre bütünlüğü içinde âyetlerin çoğunluğunda yer değişikliği, âyet cümlelerinin başka âyetlere eklenmesi veya çıkarılması, bazı âyetlere hiç yer verilmemesi gibi hususlarla Kur'an'da kendisinden önce yapılan hiçbir çalışmada görülmemiş bir tahrifata gitmiştir. Ancak gerek mealinde kullandığını ileri sürdüğü temel metodolojisi gerekse Kur'an ve Hz. Peygamber ile ilgili ileri sürdüğü hususlarda eserlerinde tutarsızlıklar içindedir. Çalışmamız Kur'an'a oryantalist yaklaşımın en uç örneklerinden birini incelemesi bakımından alanda yapılan araştırmalara katkı sağlayacaktır.

The approaches of Orientalist to the Qur'an affect the studies in the field in different ways. For this reason, it is necessary to present these studies within the framework of scientific criteria. In our study, Richard Bell's approach to the Qur'an are examined through his studies on the Qur'an and especially his Qur'an translation. In this line, Bell's works and articles, the researches on his works and the studies of orientalists on the Qur'an have been the source of our research. According to Bell, the Prophet (pbuh) did not receive any revelation, but formed the Qur'an himself with the knowledge he acquired from the previous holy books and in line with the needs that emerged during his own career. After the Prophet's (pbuh) passing away, the Qur'an was put together in a short period of time, but the Qur'an that was duplicated is not the same as the Qur'an that was put together. Therefore, the original Qur'an can be found by comparing the verses with historical data about the Prophet's life. In this way, Bell first grounded his claims about the Qur'an from a historical perspective and then he focused his approach to the Qur'an on literary criticism. In this way, he changed the order of the verses, especially in the Makkan suras, in search of the rhyme harmony at the end of the verses, and in the Madani suras, in search of subject integrity and historical coherence. With this approach, he went to a distortion that was not seen in any previous work on the Qur'an by changing the places of the majority of the verses in the sūrah integrity, adding or removing verse sentences to other verses, and not including some verses at all. However, he himself is inconsistent in his works, both in terms of the basic methodology he claims to use in his translation and in terms of the issues he claims about the Qur'an and the Prophet Muhammad. Our study will contribute to the researches in the field in terms of examining one of the most extreme examples of the orientalist approach to the Qur'an.
