İngilizler, küçük düşürücü bir yenilgiye maruz kalmış ve bu yenilginin üstünü örtmek için çeşitli yollara başvurmuştur. Alınan zafer ve yenilgilerde komutanların etkisi ne kadar olmuştur? Komutanların tecrübeleri, Irak Cephesi'nin şekillenmesinde ne dereceye kadar etkili olmuştu? "Irak Cephesi'ne Yön Veren Komutanlar (1914-1918)" isimli tezde, bu sorulara bir cevap aranmıştır. Bu cephede, farklı stratejiler kullanan komutanların olayların seyrinde ne kadar etkili olduğu önemli bir konudur. Alınan kararları etkileyen değişkenler, bölgedeki komutanların nitelikleri, karakterleri ve tecrübeleri incelenmeye çalışılmıştır. Cephede görev yapmış komutanların ve etkinliklerinin incelenmesi sonucunda, bazı önemli sonuçlara ulaşmak mümkün olmuştur. Objektif ve doğru analizler yapabilmek için farklı kaynaklar taranmış ve özenle incelenmiştir. Birincil kaynaklardan Devlet Arşivleri Başkanlığı Osmanlı Arşivi önemli başvuru kaynağı olmuştur. Bunun yanı sıra, komutanlar hakkında bilgi veren hatırat eserlerden de sıklıkla yararlanılmıştır. Telif eserlerle de tez desteklenmiştir.The Iraqi Front has been a active front where successes and defeats that had been altogether. After the Çanakkale victory, the second most important victory was won here, in Kut'ül Amare. The British suffered a humiliating defeat and resorted to various ways to cover up this defeat. How much was the influence of the commanders in the victories and defeats? How effective was the experience of the commanders in shaping the Iraqi Front? An answer to these questions is sought in the thesis titled "The Progression of Iraq Front Wars in Accorting to Commanters (1914-1918)". On this front, it is an important issue how effective the commanders, who use different strategies, are in the course of events. The variables affecting the decisions taken, the qualifications, characters and experiences of the commanders in the region are tried to be examined. As a result of the examination of the commanders who served in the front and their activities, it is possible to reach some important results. In order to make objective and accurate analyzes, different sources have been scanned and carefully examined. From primary sources, the Ottoman Archives of the Presidency of State Archives has been an important source of reference. In addition, memoirs giving information about the commanders have been frequently used.
