Bunun için özellikle melâmete dair ilk kaynak olan "Melâmetiyye Risalesi" adlı eserinden faydalanılmıştır. Görüldüğü kadarıyla Sülemî, melâmet anlayışını Kur'an ve Sünnete uygun olarak açıklamış ve nefisle mücadele ile riyâdan kaçınmayı önemli iki unsur olarak ortaya koymuştur.The main purpose of this thesis is to evaluate Ebû Abdurrahman al-Sulamî's life, ideas, malâmatî and its principles through his "Risâlat all-Malâmatiyya". For this, it was particularly referred to his "Risâlat al-Malâmetiyya" which was the first source belonging to the Malâmatî.
