Öğe An Application of Value Analysis for Lean Healthcare Management in an Emergency Department(Atlantis Press, 2016) Efe, Burak; Efe, Omer FarukThis paper investigated the value concept of lean management to improve the performance of an emergency department (ED). This paper aims to analyze on patient perceived value (PPV) to apply lean management principles in the ED. The DEMATEL (Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory) method has been suggested to specify the influence degrees of these values in ED. The results show that the availability of equipment value has remarkable influence on the other values.Öğe A decision support model based on q-rung orthopair fuzzy number for glove design application(Springer London Ltd, 2022) Efe, Omer Faruk; Efe, BurakQuality function deployment (QFD) method allows reviewing of customer requirements (CRs) and design requirements (DRs) simultaneously in order to handle the correlations and relationships of CRs and DRs in calculations. It has been often combined with fuzzy numbers because it provides to gather the judgments of experts in vagueness environment more correctly and easily. This paper suggests employing q-rung orthopair fuzzy number (q-ROFN) for improving the fuzzy QFD approach. The proposed q-ROFN based QFD method uses q-ROFN to adjust the weights of CRs based the relationships between CRs and DRs with the help of the correlations and relationships of CRs and DRs. q-ROFN presents more information than numbers such as intuitionistic fuzzy number and Pythagorean fuzzy number about the correlations and relationships of CRs and DRs. VIKOR (VIsekriterijumska optimizacija i KOm-promisno Resenje) approach based on q-ROFN is also used to rank DRs. The new proposed integrated method has been applied for evaluating the anthropometry based glove design. The results show that the most important DR for anthropometry based glove design is ease of hand motion perception.Öğe Hazard analysis using a Bayesian network and linear programming(Taylor & Francis Ltd, 2020) Efe, Burak; Kurt, Mustafa; Efe, Omer FarukIn order to make a system safer, it is necessary to determine which hazard should be removed by considering the interactions of all hazards in the process. In this study, the influence of the hazards related to iron works in a construction firm is examined by Bayesian network approach. If only the most important hazard is identified and removed from the work environment, it may be erroneous to comment on the levels of the remaining hazards. A Bayesian network is proposed to remove this problem. If there is more time and budget than planned for a process, these capacities will have to be reduced in other processes. Linear programming is proposed to remove this problem. A strong decision support system has been established by combining a Bayesian network and linear programming. A construction firm application has been demonstrated using the proposed method.Öğe An integrated intuitionistic fuzzy set and mathematical programming approach for an occupational health and safety policy(Gazi Univ, 2017) Efe, Burak; Kurt, Mustafa; Efe, Omer FarukThis paper aims to establish an occupational health and safety policy for three firms. This paper provides to overcome the drawbacks of traditional FMEA (failure mode and effects analysis) by using an integrated intuitionistic fuzzy multi-criteria decision making method and a linear programming. Priority value of criteria has been defined by utilizing intuitionistic fuzzy analytic hierarchy process method and the highest risky failure mode among failure modes has been found by utilizing intuitionistic fuzzy VIKOR (VIsekriterijumska optimizacija i KOm-promisno Resenje). The application of risk evaluation is conducted to show the effectiveness of the proposed method in three firms. The reliability of the risk ranking is verified by helping of a sensitivity analysis and the advantages of the proposed approach are shown by comparing with the other methods. The managers of the firm present some limitations for the occupational health and safety policy so that these constraints are solved by helping of a linear programming. The results show that destroying of the existing steel ropes during production of plaster, risks that caused from work equipment and electric shock during cutting were determined the highest risky failure modes for construction, textile and metal firms, respectively.Öğe Mobile phone selection based on a novel quality function deployment approach(Springer, 2020) Efe, Burak; Yerlikaya, Mehmet Akif; Efe, Omer FarukFuzzy quality function deployment (QFD) approach has been extensively implemented to transform customer requirements (CRs) into products or services because fuzzy numbers provide to obtain more accurately the judgments of experts in vagueness environment. This study proposes to use interval type-2 fuzzy (IT2F) numbers in the improving of fuzzy QFD method. The developed IT2F number-based QFD approach utilizes IT2F sets to define the correlations among CRs; the relations between CRs and design requirements (DRs); the correlations among DRs; the weights of DRs. There is no paper about integrating QFD approach and IT2F set in the literature. IT2F numbers include more accurately the judgments of the experts to express the vagueness of the applications. In addition, TOPSIS (technique for order performance by similarity to ideal solution) approach based on interval type-2 trapezoidal fuzzy (IT2TrF) is utilized to select the best mobile phone. Finally, mobile phone selection implementation is handled to indicate the efficiency of the proposed method.Öğe A model proposal to examine the effects of ships to marine pollution in terms of internal and external factors(Springer, 2022) Efe, Burak; Efe, Omer Faruk; Ishizaka, AlessioMarine pollution is an important environmental problem. One of the important causes of marine pollution is ship origin. This study deals with defining the importance degrees of ship origin marine pollution criteria. This paper suggests employing quality function deployment (QFD), interval type-2 fuzzy (IT2F) numbers, TOPSIS (technique for order performance by similarity to ideal solution) and SWOT analysis to determine these importance degrees. Internal factors, which indicate the strengths and weaknesses of the SWOT analysis in this paper, are the infrastructure of the sea to prevent pollution. External factors, which indicate the opportunities and threats of the SWOT analysis in this paper, are ship-related activities that cause pollution of the relevant sea. Five CRs and fourteen DRs are handled to examine ship origin marine pollution. Three experts have presented their judgments about the correlations and relationships of design requirements (DRs) and customer requirements (CRs). The proposed IT2F number-based QFD method uses IT2F numbers to determine the weights of DRs with the help of the correlations and relationships of the DRs and CRs. The most important internal factors are complying with the law and hard supervision, respectively. The most important external factors are direct discharge of waters of tank washing, direct discharge of ballast waters of ships and direct discharge of bilge waters of ships, respectively. Four seas are ranked in terms of ship origin marine pollution by using TOPSIS approach based on IT2F number. The most polluted sea exposed to ship origin marine pollution is Sea of Marmara according to the obtained results.Öğe Quality function deployment based failure mode and effect analysis approach for risk evaluation(Springer London Ltd, 2021) Efe, Burak; Efe, Omer FarukThe traditional failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) aims to define the risk priority number of each failure mode by multiplying occurrence, severity and detection parameters of each failure mode. Many studies in the literature commented the traditional FMEA due to its limitations such as equal importance degrees, discrete ordinal scales and multiplication of O, S and D criteria. This study suggests coping with these drawbacks a new method, which combines the quality function deployment (QFD) method under interval type-2 fuzzy set, Bayesian network and VIKOR method. The previous studies generally handle to rank the failure modes as only goal. This paper investigates concurrently the failure modes and the reasons of failure modes. QFD method provides us this benefit by employing customer requirements (CRs) and design requirements (DRs). CRs are the reasons of failure modes while DRs are failure modes. This study presents a new perspective to examine the correlations of CRs and DRs as linguistic terms by using Bayesian network. The VIKOR method deals with ranking the failure modes by aggregating the weights of O, S and D criteria. The developed method is utilized for risk evaluation of tile and marble works in building construction. The result shows that the most significant design requirement or failure mode is DR14 (unsuitable plug-socket utilization).
