Epiktetos ve Marcus Aurelius'da ölüm

Ölüm, insan için mevcut yaşamın sonu anlamına gelmektedir ve ölümünün ardından geri dönen kimse olmadığı için bilinmezlik içermektedir. Ölümün ne olduğunu bilmeyen kişi için ölüme karşı nasıl bir tavır takınılması gerektiği büyük bir soru işaretidir. Bu bilinmezlik insanın ölüme karşı yanlış yargılarda bulunmasına neden olmakta ve kişinin erdemsiz davranıp mutsuz olmasına neden olmaktadır. Bundan dolayı ölüm hakkında cevaplanması gereken bazı sorular bulunmaktadır. Bu sorulardan bazıları şunlardır: Ölüm nedir? Ölüm iyi, kötü veya farksız mıdır? Ölüme insanın müdahalesi bulunur mu? Ölümden sonra ruhun ve bedenin durumu nedir? Bu sorulara cevap aramak için çalışma boyunca Stoa Okulunun son dönem filozoflarından olan Epiktetos ve Marcus Aurelius'un felsefelerinde ölüm düşüncesinin yeri açıklanacak, ölüm düşüncesi kapsamlı bir şekilde değerlendirilecek ve ölüm hakkındaki sorulara bir çözüm aranacaktır.

Death means the end of the current life for human, and it contains uncertainty since there is no return after his death. For a person who does not know what death is, it is a big question mark what attitude he will take towards death. This obscurity causes a person to make wrong judgments about death and causes a person to act without virtue and become unhappy. Therefore, there are some questions that need to be answered about death. Some of these questions are: What is death? Is death good, bad, or indifferent? Is there human intervention in death? What is the state of the soul and body after death? In order to search for answers to these questions, the place of the idea of death in the philosophies of Epictetus and Marcus Aurelius, the philosophers a last Stoic, will be explained throughout the study, the thought of death will be comprehensively evaluated and solutions to questions related to death will be sought.
