The primary aim of this study is to examine the effects of an instructional process designed within an online learning environment using dynamic web technologies on students’ perceptions of virtual risk and their tendencies toward creative thinking. This research employed a quantitative experimental design in order to observe changes in students’ virtual risk perception and creative thinking tendencies as a result of technology integration into the learning process. To analyze these effects, an appropriate sample was selected, and participants were assigned to either experimental or control groups. The instructional process was designed using Gagné’s Nine Events of Instruction model, implemented within a virtual classroom environment supported by dynamic web technologies, particularly through the “Replit” platform. Within the scope of this study, during the 2024–2025 academic year, an experimental group consisting of 30 tenth-grade students from a selected Anatolian high school in Karaman, Turkey, received instruction in the Python programming language through this web-based model. A control group, also consisting of 30 tenth-grade students from the same institution, followed the standard curriculum through face-to-face instruction, also aligned with Gagné’s model but without the digital component. Before and after the instructional interventions, two standardized measurement tools were administered: the Virtual World Risk Perception Scale (SDRAÖ) developed by Arslankara and Usta (2018), and the Marmara Creative Thinking Tendencies Scale (MYDEÖ) developed by Özgenel and Çetin (2017). Upon comparing pretest and post-test scores, it was observed that students in the experimental group showed a significant improvement in their creative thinking tendencies, regardless of gender. However, no statistically significant difference was detected in their perceptions of virtual risk. The findings suggest that the combination of dynamic web technologies, online classroom environments, and structured pedagogical models such as Gagné’s contributes positively to the development of students’ creative thinking. On the other hand, it appears that perceptions related to virtual risks may require longer-term interventions or different pedagogical strategies to yield measurable change.
