İslam düşüncesinde Hermes ve Ibnü'l-Arabî'de Hermetizm

Bu yüksek lisans tezi İslam düşüncesinde Hermes'in kimliğini ve İbnü'l-Arabî'deki hermetik unsurları incelemeyi hedeflemektedir. Bu amaçla tezin giriş bölümünde farklı kültür ve geleneklerde yer alan Hermes'in kim olduğu üç gruba ayrılarak: 1- Mısır Tanrısı Thoth, 2- İbranîlerde Hanok 3- Yunanlılarda Hermes Trismegistus olarak incelenmiştir. Birinci bölümde Hermes'in nasıl İslam düşüncesine kabul edildiği, İdris Peygamber ile özdeşleştirildiği söylemi, İbnü'l-Arabî'nin İdris Peygamberi ele alışı ve Hermes ile benzeyen hususların bulunup bulunmadığı incelenmiştir. İkinci bölümde ise Hermes'in söylemlerinin ve öğretilerinin yani Hermetik unsurların İbnü'l-Arabî'ye intikal ettiği varsayımı üzerinde durulmuş ve söylenen Hermetik unsurlar tespit edilerek teker teker incelenmeye çalışılmıştır.

The aim of this study is to examine the identity of Hermes in Islamic thought and Hermetic elements in Ibn al-Arabî. For this purpose, identity and properties of Hermes who exist in different tradition and cultures have been examined in three group sat the beginning ofthe study: 1- )Egyptian God Thoth, 2- )Enoch in Hebrews, and 3- ) Greek god Hermes Trismegistus. Influence of Hermes in Islamic thoughts has been analy sed in two sections. In the first section, acceptance of Hermes to Islamic thought, identification of Hermes with Idris prophet, approaches of Ibn al-Arabî to Idris Prophet and common features of Idris Prophetin Ibn al-Arabî and Hermes in several traditions have been examined in details. In the second section, assumption of in heritance of Hermetic elements - rhetoric and doctrines of Hermes - to Ibn al-Arabî have been investigated, and every identified Hermetic element in Ibn al-Arabî has been scrutinised in details.
