A total of 1387 ecotourism-related research from the Web of Science (WoS) database from 1991 to 2021 were analyzed in some bibliometric analyses using CiteSpace V software. The most frequently studied cluster of topics related to ecotourism includes the creation of local benefits, ecotourism intentions, and community empowerment. The three most frequently used keywords related to ecotourism are “ecotourism,” “tourism,” and “conservation.” The outcome of this research constitutes a unique contribution to the area of ecotourism. The study provides an in-depth bibliometric analysis of publications and identification of important research trends. It also identifies possible avenues for future research in the knowledge domain of ecotourism.Öğe Education and Necessity of (Geographical Information System) GIS in the Departments of Geography(Marmara Univ, 2011) Yigit, Ilker; Ataol, Murat; Dinc, AbdurrahmanThanks to the emergence of GIS geography and geographers have restructured. Performing in the process of planning, the geographical information system contributes geographers to bring new employment-opportunities out. In particular geographers from European and North American countries are working intensively in relevant institutions and organizations (associations) with GIS. Unfortunately, the rate of geographers who are employing this industry in our country is less than those of western countries. Hence this employment in this industry is stuffed with more people who graduated from the department of geodesy and computer-engineering. In the course of time GIS lectures have increased in the department of geography of our country. This increasement is going to contribute to employment of geographers in several ways in this industry but what to do is of course more than these. In this project GIS's significance is defined in department of geography all around the world and in private sector. Moreover, the lectures of GIS that included in our country's education program of geography departments between years 2003-2010 are evaluated.
