Öğe Emotional Intelligence Level of Health Sciences Faculty Students(Springer Int Publishing Ag, 2017) Kaya, S. Didem; Yuceler, Aydan; Ileri, Yusuf YalcinThe individual knows their emotions, being aware of others' emotions and being able to use them effectively in their social and business life is important. In April 2015, 169 questionnaires in total (81 %) obtained from the students who accepted participating in the study was evaluated. Survey technique was utilized in the study. The questionnaire contained questions involving socio-demographic characteristics of the students (9 questions) and intelligence scale questions (20 questions). The results obtained in the study were evaluated through SPSS statistics program. Descriptive statistical methods and T test, Oneway Anova test was conducted in comparison of the quantitative data. The results were evaluated in the confidence interval of 95 %, and significance was evaluated at the level of p < 0.05. When the results were examined, emotional intelligence scores of the students are seen to be higher than the average.Öğe Evaluation of Organization and Management Structure of Health Enterprises: Comparison of Public, Private and University Hospitals in Turkey(Springer Int Publishing Ag, 2017) Yuceler, Aydan; Kilinc, Mehmet; Kaya, S. DidemGeneral Assembly of the United Nations adopted Universal Declaration of Human Rights on 10th of December, 1948. It is stated in the 2nd article of this declaration that everyone's right to live will be protected by law. Individual's right to live may become meaningful with the right to health granted to the individual. Existence of right to live depends on the existence of right to health. What the important is not only the life, but a healthy life. Individuals' staying healthy, protection of individual's right to live and right to health is only possible with effective health services. For provision of effective health services, health system should be organized well. According to World Health Organization, health system of a country should be designed in a manner that health services needed by everyone are provided at high quality. This service should be effective, affordable and socially acceptable. It is suggested that each country develops its unique health system by taking these factors into consideration. The reforms made in the health system which has undergone significant changes in recent years in Turkey and its present organization structure was analyzed in this study.Öğe Importance of Hospital Way-Finding System on Patient Satisfaction(Springer Int Publishing Ag, 2016) Kaya, S. Didem; Ileri, Y. Yalcin; Yuceler, AydanThe basic function of the hospitals is to ensure the patient satisfaction. Patient satisfaction is a strategic element for hospitals to reach their missions and for the survival of the management. One way of ensuring patient satisfaction in hospital clinics, polyclinics and laboratories is proper way-finding systems with reasonable distances in the route. Because of complaints and dissatisfaction of patients from the hospital's way-finding systems, some routing arrangements were made in Konya Selcuk University Medical Faculty Hospital. As a result of this arrangements, satisfaction levels of 1121 patients from the distance levels between clinics, polyclinics and laboratories in Selcuk University Medical Faculty Hospital was intended to measure. The study was administered on 1121 patients between August-June 2013 in Selcuk University Medical Faculty Hospital using face to face interview method. According to the results, it can be concluded that after the arrangements of the hospital's way-finding systems, patient satisfaction of hospital way-finding systems gets high rates as they mostly responded good and very good to the questions. Moreover, after the arrangements of the hospital's way-finding systems, the number of patient's complaints has decreased to zero level.Öğe INERTIA BEHAVIOURS AND PATIENT SAFETY AMONG NURSES(Nobel Ilac, 2018) Kaya, S. Didem; Yuceler, Aydan; Ozen, Melek YagciObjective: Present study is based on the fact that inertia behaviors, which can be observed on health employees, can affect patient safety; it is aimed to examine the relationship between the inertia behaviors of nurses and the patient safety. Material and Method: This is a descriptive study. The study was carried out in two different health institutions in Konya Province from July to October 2016. The total number of nurses were 859 (610+249) in the institutions and 266 nurses were recruited to the study who were representative all the nurses. The data were collected via questionnaire. The questionnaire contains demographic characteristics of the nurses, and Knowledge Inertia and Patient Safety Culture Hospital scale (A, C, E, F). In the analysis of the data, the confirmatory factor analysis, the descriptive statistics, the correlation analysis and among the dimensions in a relationship with each other, the regression analysis were carried out. Results: When the analysis results are examined, it is seen that 75% of the nurses are female, 74% of them are married, 42% of them are between 30 and 39 years of age. The average point of sub-dimension of the inertia of learning has been found 2.17 +/- 0.67 and the average point of sub-dimension of the experience inertia has been found 3.62 +/- 0.47. 33% of the nurses' degrees of evaluating patient safety are very good and 45% of them are acceptable. A negative and moderate relationship has been found between the dimensions of teamwork (r=-0.415, p<0.01), transfers and hospital responses (r=-0.380, p<0.01) within the units in terms of the dimension of the nurses' behavior of the inertia of learning. When the results related to significance of the regression coefficient are examined, it is seen that its statistically significant effect is on the sub-dimension of teamwork, and transfers and hospital responses within the units (t=-4.548, p<0,001; t=-3.983, p<0.001). Conclusion: There is a relationship between the inertia behavior and patient safety culture, and 24% of the total of sub-dimensions of patient safety scale for hospitals is explained by the inertia of learning and 15.5% of it is explained by the total knowledge inertia. Accordingly, efforts should be made to be a learning organization in developing the patient safety and the inertial employees should be organized.
