The relationship of mankind with the ceramicslasting for ages has reached a very different point in the last decade. The new shaping techniques emerging from the development of digital technology have provided new possibilities to the artists and designers to better express themselves. With the use of iron oxide in laser printers and ceramic toners, images can be transferred to glazed ceramic surfaces using computer designed water slide papers. Images created digitally can be transferred to ceramic surfaces using two different techniques. The first one is the use of black toner containing iron oxide, known as laser printing. The other method is to use high temperature resistant ceramic toners. This article explains the processes of ceramic printing techniques showing the progress at different stages. It also introduces the ceramic artists who use both techniques and includes some comments on their works.en_US
