The myths are the proses which have persuasive features and are about specific places, events and people. The subjects of places in the myths have an important portion. And the myths related with lakes are nearly the most common of all. In Anatolia it is obvious that naming lakes is not only related with geographical features but also related with the myths of the local inhabitants. The names of some lakes like Ali Gelmez-Ali doesn't come, Haftz Bogulan Yer-The place Where Koran Reader Drowned, Gelin Geldi-Bride Arrived, Hasan Bo:guldu-Hasan Drowned etc. were given in accordance with the myths of the regions. Naming a place with mythological reasons is very important in Onomastics Science. In this study I am going to take stock of the lake myths collected all around Anatolia in terms of Onomastics Science.en_US
