dc.description.abstractSphingomonas paucimobilis is a rarely pathogenic organism that usually infects immunocompromised patients and causes nosocomial infections, but a few community-acquired infections have been identified in relatively healthy adult patients. Herein we report a 5-year-old child who presented with acute ischemic stroke caused by S. paucimobilis that was treated successfully with antibiotics and antithrombotic agents. According to our knowledge, this is the first case of acute ischemic infarction with S. paucimobilis in a previously healthy child.en_US
