The aim of this study is to determine the effect of “Differentiated Instruction Activities” on the skill-based academic success, financial literacy knowledge, attitudes and behaviors of the students in the "production, distribution and consumption" learning area teaching of the 4th grade primary school social studies course. In the research, parallel design, which is one of the mixed research methods, in which qualitative and quantitative research methods are used together, was used. In the quantitative research phase; Experimental design with pre-test and post-test control group was used, and case study method was used in the qualitative dimension. In the quantitative dimension of the research; Social Studies Lesson Attitude Scale (SSLA), Skill-Based Academic Achievement Test (SB-AAT), Financial Literacy Knowledge Scale (FLKS), Financial Literacy Attitude Scale (FLAS) and Financial Literacy Behavior Scale (FLBS) were used. In the qualitative research dimension; semi-structured interview forms were used. The research was conducted with 65 fourth grade students (N=65) studying at a public school in Seydişehir in the 2020-2021 academic year. According to the research findings; in the part where we examined the effects of the differentiated instraction approach on the social studies course, significant differences were observed in the skill-based academic achievement of the students in the experimental group, while there was no significant increase in the academic achievement on the basis of skill in the control group. In addition, the application created significant differences in the attitudes towards the social studies course in the experimental group. In the part where we examined the effects of the differentiated instraction approach on financial literacy skills, the application created significant differences in financial literacy knowledge, attitudes and behaviors in the pre- and post-application measurements of the experimental group. In addition, there was a significant difference in knowledge and attitudes in the comparisons between the measurements of the experimental group and the measurements of the control group, while there was no significant difference between the two groups in behavioral measurements. Qualitative findings generally supported the quantitative data, and student attitudes towards the practice were positive.
