Structures of feeling, is one of the key concepts in the cultural theory of the literary and cultural critic Raymond Williams. He does not only try to explain structures of feeling in some of his works, but he also uses them in his literary critics. According to Williams, one of the key features of this concept is that it is mostly seen in the literature of the period and though it looks very similar to ideology or worldview, structures of feeling includes specific qualities that those two concepts remain incapable. The concept of structures of feeling is found complicated and intangible by many critics including Terry Eagleton. Therefore, instead of trying to give its lexical meaning, following the course of the concept in Williams' texts will yield more useful results. One of these results is the fact that despite the lack of a clear definition, the structures of feeling have opportunities for Turkish literature historiography and criticism, but these opportunities are only possible with a criticism style similar to Williams' and a holistic view. In this context, it has been observed that Ahmet Hamdi Tanptnar's literary historiography has similar qualities to Williams' views in terms of his view of the concepts of culture (civilization) and his view of literary work as the product of certain social processes. Tanptnar's detections and Williams' concept of feeling structures have been found to intersect, especially in three points: the idea of Generation, the emergence of new literary genres, and emotion. In this study, after the history and definitions of Raymond Williams' concept of 'feeling structures are given, these intersections will be addressed and the points that overlap with feeling structures in the XIX. Asir Turk Edebiyatt Tarihi by Tanpinar will be examined.en_US
