dc.description.abstractThe first edition of the Turkish Dictionary, published in 1945, contains 32104 glossary items. In the latest edition published in 2011 (11th edition), this number increased to 92292. Scanning new literary works would increase this number. Studies deal with the Turkish Dictionary structurally allows for a more accurate evaluation of the items in the Dictionary. In the Turkish Dictionary, some words with different roots and different meanings are categorized under a single glossary item. In this study, 36 similar words with different meanings and different roots were identified. These words have been evaluated under 18 items in Turkish Dictionary. It is important to list these glossary items separately in the Turkish Dictionary in terms of creating a more etymologically correct dictionary and revealing the number of glossary items owned by the Turkish Dictionary.en_US
