Özet

Cumra, is a province administration center. The administration region of Cumra includes Karatay in the north, Karapinar in the east, Akoren and Meram in the west, Bozkir in the southwest, Guneysinir in the south and Karaman in the southeast. Cumra has many properties of a city thanks to its 9000-year-old history, population, general phsyonomic appearance and functions. In distribution of the population as the financial branches, Cumra has a leading position in public service sector and 30 011 people live in Cumra. The 56 percent of the present population works in public service sector, 46 percent in agriculture sector, whereas 8 percent works in industrial sector. During the years between 1990 and 2000, the rate of the agricultural function decreased in the district and the rate of public service has improved. Today, to develop the poor position of the industrial sector, many important decisions have been taken and many attempts have been carried out like the largest and the most modern sugar factory and its facilities. The beginning of the study includes literature search. And then, data including the history, population and urban functions of Cumra has been analysed. Obtained data has been been evaluated by settlement geopgraphy methodology.
