Özet
Ekoturizm, doğal ve kültürel kaynakların korunmasını hedefleyen, bu faaliyetleri sürdürürken
yerel halkın aktivitelerden en üst seviyede fayda sağlamasını amaçlayan sorumlu turizm
türüdür. Bu bağlamda çalışmanın alanı olan Çıldır ilçesi ve çevresi sahip olduğu doğal ve
kültürel alanları ile ekoturizm çalışmalarında yüksek potansiyele sahip bölgelerden biridir.
Çıldır ilçesi; idari olarak Ardahan iline bağlı, coğrafi olarak ise Doğu Anadolu Bölgesi sınırları
içerisinde ve Gürcistan’a komşu olan bir sınır ilçesi konumundadır. Türkiye’nin yüksek
ilçelerinden biri olan Çıldır, coğrafi konumu ve fiziki özellikleriyle son yıllarda kendinden söz
ettirmeye başlamıştır. Özellikle son yıllarda doğal ve bozulmamış alanların daha değerli olması
Çıldır’ın bakir bir coğrafyada yer alması ekoturizm bakımından önemli olmasını sağlamıştır.
Bu çalışmada Çıldır ilçesi ve çevresinin ekoturizm potansiyelinin tespit edilmesi amaçlanmış ve
bu potansiyelin değerlendirilmesi için yapılması gerekenler üzerinde durulmuştur. Çalışmanın
yöntemi olarak literatür taraması yapılmış, nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden mülakat (görüşme)
tekniği kullanılmıştır. Literatür taraması, mülakat ve yapılan gözlemler neticesinde elde edilen
bilgiler doğrultusunda swot analizi yapılmıştır. Ayrıca bölgede ekoturizm çalışmaları
bakımından değerlendirme altına alınabilecek alanlar gözlemlenmiştir. Böylece Çıldır ve
çevresinde ekoturizm çalışmalarının yürütülebileceği sahalar ortaya çıkartılmış ve faaliyet
alanları belirlenmiştir. Çalışmanın sonunda Çıldır ilçesi ve çevresinde yeterli sayıda konaklama
tesisinin bulunmaması, sahip olunan yemek kültürünün gerekli oranda turizm çalışmalarında
yer almadığı, bölgedeki ulaşım faaliyetlerinin yetersizliği, bölgede aktif bir biçimde
yapılabilecek olan turizm aktivitelerinin organizasyon ve planlama eksikliği sebebi ile
yapılamaması sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Çıldır ilçesinde karlı ve buzlu gün sayısının fazla
olmasından kaynaklı kış turizmi faaliyetleri öne çıkmıştır.
Ecotourism is a type of responsible tourism that aims to protect natural and cultural resources and aims to ensure that the local people benefit from the activities at the highest level while continuing these activities. In this context, Çıldır district, which is the area of study, and its surroundings are one of the regions with high potential in ecotourism studies with its natural and cultural areas. Çıldır district is administratively connected to Ardahan Province, and geographically it is located within the borders of the Eastern Anatolia Region and is a border district neighboring Georgia. Çıldır, one of the highest districts of Turkey, has started to make a mention of itself in recent years with its geographical location and physical characteristics. Especially in recent years, the fact that natural and unspoiled areas are more valuable, the fact that Çıldır is located in a virgin geography has made it important for ecotourism. OBJECTIVE In this study, it was aimed to determine the ecotourism potential of Çıldır district and its surroundings and focused on what needs to be done to evaluate this potential. A literature review was conducted as the method of the study, and interview (interview) technique, one of the qualitative research methods, was used. SWOT analysis was performed in accordance with the information obtained as a result of literature review, interviews and observations made. In addition, areas that can be evaluated in terms of ecotourism studies have been observed in the region. Thus, the areas where ecotourism studies can be carried out in Çıldır and its surroundings have been identified and the areas of activity have been determined. The Wild at the end of the study in sufficient numbers and lack of accommodation in the surrounding area of the town, owned the required rate of Tourism Studies took place in the region where the food culture of the lack of transportation activities in the region that can be done in an active manner that cannot be made due to lack of organization and planning of tourism activities is concluded. Winter tourism activities have come to the fore due to the high number of snowy and icy days in Çıldır district.
