A total of 114 five- to six-year-old children (57 normal-weight children and 57 obese children), who attend preschool educational institutions, participated in the study. The Ladd-Profilet Child Behaviour Scale and Peer Victimisation Scale were used to obtain data of the study. Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) was used to test the data. As a result of the study, there were significant differences on prosocial behaviour and hyperactivity levels of children according to their gender and at aggressiveness, prosocial behaviour and hyperactivity levels according to the state of being obese. Besides, significant differences were observed on asocial behaviours, hyperactivity and peer victimisation levels of children according to the state of being obese and gender interaction.Öğe Analysis of Emotional Socialization Behaviors of Mother-Fathers and Social Skills of Preschool Children(Turkish Education Assoc, 2016) Secer, Zarife; Karabulut, NihanIn this study, emotional socialization behaviors of mother-father and social skills of preschool children were investigated. 363 children as 185 (51%) boys and 178 (49%) girls and their parents were included in the study. The Coping with Children's Negative Emotions Scale and Social Skills Evaluation Scale were used as data collection tool in the study. The data were analyzed by using Multivariate Analysis of Variance and Multivariate Analysis of Regression techniques. As a result of the study, it was found that emotional socialization behaviors of the parents varied depending on the child's gender and mother-fathers' educational levels. Additionally, it was also concluded in the study that emotional socialization behaviors of the parents were a significant predictor of social skills of preschool children. In accordance with the results of the study, it is recommended to provide parents with trainings on socializing children's negative emotions.Öğe Analysis of Emotional Socialization Behaviors of Mother-Fathers and Social Skills of Preschool Children(Turkish Education Assoc, 2016) Secer, Zarife; Karabulut, NihanIn this study, emotional socialization behaviors of mother-father and social skills of preschool children were investigated. 363 children as 185 (51%) boys and 178 (49%) girls and their parents were included in the study. Children with a high level of self-perception had a higher skill level of perspective taking in comparison to children with a low level of self-perception.Öğe Cognitive developmental levels of preschool children in relation to peer relationships(Routledge Journals, Taylor & Francis Ltd, 2015) Ogelman, Hulya Gulay; Secer, Zarife; Onder, AlevThe purpose of the study is to investigate the cognitive developmental levels of five- to six-year-old preschool children with regard to their peer relationships. The training programme which was used in this research to increase reflectivity was developed by the researchers. As a research instrument, Matching Familiar Figures Test-20 was used to be able to collect the data. For the data analysis, 'Mann-Withney-U Test' and 'Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test' were used. As a result, a number of errors were decreased and the lenght of latency of experimental group of children were increased.
