dc.description.abstractBu araştırmanın amacı, mineral kavramına yönelik üniversitede aktif öğrenim gören öğrencilerin kavramsal yapılarını belirleyerek mineral kavramını zihinlerinde nasıl organize ettiklerini ve alternatif kavramlarını belirlemektir. Bu çalışmada mineral kavramına yönelik öğrenci görüşleri de belirlenmiştir. Araştırmada nitel araştırma desenlerinden “Olgubilim” kullanılmıştır. 2023-2024 eğitim öğretim yılında yapılmış olan bu çalışma Necmettin Erbakan Üniversitesinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu çalışma Eğitim Fakültesinden Biyoloji Eğitimi öğrencileri ile Fen Fakültesinden Moleküler Biyoloji ve Genetik Bölümü öğrencileri ve Biyoteknoloji Bölümü öğrencileri ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu çalışmada her 3 bölümden de öğrencilerin farklı sınıf seviyelerinde katılımları sağlanmış ve elde edilen veriler bölüm, sınıf ve cinsiyete göre listelenmiştir. Veri toplama aracı olarak metafor formu ve yapılandırılmış form kullanılmıştır. Veriler, içerik analiz tekniğinden yararlanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmada üniversite öğrencilerinin mineral kavramına yönelik metaforik algıları “Mineral……. gibidir. Çünkü; …” şeklindeki bir metafor form aracılığıyla belirlenmiştir. Bu formda öğrencilerin 3 farklı metafor oluşturmaları istenmiştir. Oluşturulan metaforlar da belirlenen kategorilerden öne çıkan 2 kategori “besin” ve “görev” kategorileri olmuştur. En fazla kullanılan metaforlar su, vitamin ve taş olmuştur. Çalışmada geçersiz metaforlar değerlendirmeye katılmamıştır. Analiz sonucunda üniversite öğrencilerinin metafor formundan elde edilen veriler toplam 305 çeşit metafor ürettikleri belirlenmiştir. Üniversite öğrencilerinin görüş formunda elde edilen veriler analiz edildiğinde 5 kategori belirlenmiştir. Bu kategorilerde en fazla cevap alan 2 kategori “mineral tanımı” ve “mineral örneği” kategorileri olmuştur. Yapılan çalışmada Metafor formu ve yapılandırılmış formdaki verilen cevaplar öğrencilerin mineral kavramına yönelik kavram yanılgıları olabileceği yönündedir, eksik ve yanlış bilgileri bulunmaktadır. Lise biyoloji dersinde görmüş oldukları mineral kavramını yeterli düzeyde hatırlamayan öğrencilerin olduğu belirlenmiştir. Öğretim sırasında öğrencilerin daha somut ve akılda kalıcı yöntemlerle mineral kavramını öğrenmelerinin daha yararlı olacağı düşünülmektedir.
dc.description.abstractThe aim of this research is to determine the conceptual structures of students who are actively studying at the university towards the concept of mineral and how they organize the concept of mineral in their minds and determine their alternative concepts. In this study, student opinions on the concept of mineral are also determined. "Phenomenology”, which is one of the qualitative research designs, is used in the research. This study, which has been conducted in the 2023-2024 academic year has been carried out at Necmettin Erbakan University. This study is carried out in the students of Biological Education from Faculty of Education and, students of the department of Molecular Biology and Genetics and students of the department of Biotechnology from Faculty of Science. In this study, the participation of students from all 3 departments at different class levels are ensured and the obtained data is listed according to department, class, and gender. Metaphor form and structured form are used as data collection tools. The data are analysed by using the content analysis technique. In the study the metaphorical perceptions of university students towards the concept of mineral has been investigated. "Mineral is like ….” and “because it is ………” are determined through a metaphor form. In this form, students are asked to create three different metaphors. The two categories that stood out from the categories are "nutrient" and "task". The most used metaphors are water, vitamin and stone. Invalid metaphors are not included in the evaluation. As a result of the analysis, it is determined that university students produced a total of 305 different metaphors from the data obtained from the metaphor. As the data obtained from the university students' opinion form is analysed, five categories are determined. The two categories that received the most answers in these categories are “mineral definition” and “mineral sample". In the study, the answers given in the Metaphor form and structured form indicate that students may have misconceptions about the concept of mineral and have incomplete and incorrect information. It is determined that there are students who do not remember the concept of mineral sufficiently which they had seen in high school biology class. It is thought that it would be more beneficial for students to learn the concept of mineral with more concrete and memorable methods during education.
