Although many studies have been done about the features of the parents of children with ADHD, it is seen that the studies with chronotype and sleep characteristics have been limited. In our study, it was aimed to investigate the chronotype and sleep characteristics of parents of children with ADHD and the factors affecting them. Method: A total of 150 parent including 50 parents, consisting of parents of children with ADHD diagnosis and receiving regular treatment for at least 6 months, 50 parents, consisting of parents of children with ADHD diagnosis but have not received regular treatment for at least 6 months, and 50 parents who have children without any psychiatric diagnosis and chronic disease, were included in the study. A sociodemographic and clinical data form was filled for the parents included in the study and PSQI, MEQ and sleep-50 questionnaires were applied to the parents. Parents were compared by grouping as ADHD group receiving treatment, ADHD group without treatment and control group. Results: Compared to the control group, the ADHD group had significantly tea / coffee consumption in the evening, sleep problems in children, and more psychiatric diagnoses in their history. In the ADHD group, the PSQI total score and daytime dysfunction was higher, and sleep quality was significantly worse. There was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of chronotype differences. According to the sleep 50 scale, the symptoms of narcolepsy, the rate of night smoking and sleep hygiene disorder were found to be significantly higher in the control group. There was no significant difference between ADHD groups receiving and not receiving treatment in terms of demographic and test scores. Conclusion: The findings show that the parents of children with ADHD have significant sleep-related disorders. New studies with larger samples are needed to reveal a significant difference between the ADHD group receiving and not receiving treatment in terms of sleep and chronobiology and to confirm the findings of the study.
