dc.description.abstractHipotermi, bedenin merkezi sıcaklığının 36C altında olması olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Yara iyileşmesinde gecikme, cerrahi alan infeksiyonu, kanama, kardiyak sorunlar, hasta konforunda bozulma, hastanede kalış süresinde uzama ve yaşam kaybı gibi ciddi komplikasyonlara ve sorunlara neden olur. Bu nedenle, kontrollü hipotermi oluşturulan bazı cerrahi girişimler veya patolojik durumlar dışında hipotermi, cerrahi hastasında önlenmesi gereken bir sorundur. Cerrahi hastası, cerrahi girişim öncesi, sırası ve sonrası dönemde istenmeyen hipotermi gelişimi açısından yüksek risk altındadır. Hipotermi sonrası termal dengenin tekrar sağlanması, yaklaşık 2-5 saat gerektirdiğinden, hipoterminin oluşmadan önlenmesi önemlidir. Cerrahi hastasında hipotermi riskini arttıran faktörleri ve önleme girişimlerini bilmek, etkin aktif ve pasif ısıtma yöntemlerini uygulamak ve beden sıcaklığını yakından izlemek cerrahi hemşiresinin önemli sorumluluklarındandır. Hipotermi kaynaklı sorun ve komplikasyonlar dikkate alındığında, hipotermi gelişimini önlemek cerrahi hastasının güvenliğini sağlamada önemlidir. Hipotermiyi önlemede önemli role sahip olan cerrahi hemşireleri, yapacakları deneysel araştırmalarla termal akış şemalarının ve hipotermi önleme rehberlerinin oluşturulmasına katkı sağlayabilir.en_US
dc.description.abstractHypothermia is defined as a central body temperature below 36C. It can cause serious complications and problems such as delay in wound healing, surgical site infection, haemorrhage, cardiac problems, discomfort for the patient, extended hospitalization and even death. Therefore, hypothermia is a problem that must be prevented in surgical patients except in the cases of surgical interventions or pathological cases, which require controlled hypothermia. Surgical patients are at high risk of undesirable hypothermia before, during, and after the surgical intervention. Hypothermia should be prevented before it occurs since re-balancing the body temperature after hypothermia requires approximately two to five hours. Therefore, surgical nurses should be acknowledged all the factors that may increase the risk of hypothermia in surgical patients as well as the prevention interventions; and further apply the most efficient active/passive rewarming methods by closely monitoring the body temperature. While preventing the occurrence of hypothermia in the complications resulted from hypothermia has utmost importance to the surgical patient’s safety, conducting experimental studies on establishing thermal flow charts and guides may be beneficial for the nurses who have key roles on preventing hypothermia.en_US
