Özet
Hıristiyan dünyasında dinî ve siyasî otorite olarak kendini gösteren Katolik Kilisesi’nde papa ve papanın yanılmazlığı çok önemli bir yer tutmaktadır. Zamanla bu düşünceyi esas alan otoritenin sorgulanması ve eleştirilmesiyle gelişen reform hareketleri, Katolik dünyasını etkilemiş ve Katolik Kilisesi’nin kendi içyapısına göz atmasına ve bu eleştirileri ortadan kaldırabilecek bazı önlemler almasına yol açmıştır. Bu önlemlerin başında gelen ve reformculara karşı başlatılan Karşı Reform hareketi, Katolik kilisesinin bir tür yenilenme hareketi olarak görülebilir. Karşı Reformun en önemli simgesi haline gelen Trent Konsili ve bu konsilde alınan kararlar, kilisenin kendi bünyesini yenileme ve reform yanlısı tutumlara yaklaşımı konusunda nasıl bir yol benimsediğinin anlaşılması noktasında önemli bir yer tutmaktadır. Katolik Hıristiyanlığında bunun en somut örneğini, yaklaşık dört yüz yıl boyunca varlığını sürdüren ancak günümüzde resmiyetini korumayan ve tarihi bir belge hükmünde kabul edilen İndex Librorum Prohibitorum (Yasaklı Kitaplar Listesi) oluşturmaktadır.
In the Catholic Church, which manifests itself as a religious and political authority in the Christian world, the pope, and the infallibility of pope has a very important place. The reform movements that developed with the guestioning and criticism of the authority based on this thought in time affected the Catholic world and caused the Catholic Church to take some measures that could eliminate these criticisms. The Counter-Reformation movement, which was at the forefrontof these measures and started against the reformers, can be seen as a kind of renewal movement of the Catholic church. The Council of Trent, which has become the most important symbol of the Counter-Reformation, and the decisions taken in this council have an important place in understanding the way that Catholic Church has adopted in terms of renewing its own structure and approaching pro-reform attitudes. The most concrete example of this in Catholic Christianity is the Index Librorum Prohibitorum (List of Prohibited Books), which has existed for nearly four hundred years, but is not official today and is considered a historical document.
