dc.description.abstractEnerji kaynaklarını kendisi üretemeyen ve dışardan alım yapan ülkelerin ihtiyaçlarına yönelik politikalar belirlemesi gerekmektedir. Gelişen sanayi ile birlikte enerji ihtiyacı artmakta ve enerji ihtiyacının karşılanması için farklı enerji kaynakları aranmaktadır. Enerji kaynağına sahip olmayan ülkelerin geliştirdiği politikalar sadece dış politikanın değil iç politikanın da konusudur. Türkiye sanayisini geliştirmek adına yaptığı girişimler doğrultusunda daha fazla enerji kaynağına ihtiyaç duymaktadır. Bu ihtiyacı tek bir enerji kaynağı yerine farklı kaynaklar kullanarak karşılamaya çalışmaktadır. Bunun başlıca sebebi kendi enerji kaynağını üretememesi ve dışa bağımlı olmasıdır. Bu dışa bağımlılığının ülke siyasetini etkilememesi adına farklı kaynakları farklı ülkelerden ve farklı çalışmalarla karşılamaya çabalamaktadır. Bu çalışma ile ülkenin enerjiye olan ihtiyacı, bu konuda yapılan çalışmalar, Doğu Akdeniz’de yaşanan gelişmeler ve bunun Türkiye’nin enerji politikalarına etkilerinin incelenmesi yapılan ön çalışma ile gerekliliği ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu çalışma ile hem ülkenin enerji politikalarının anlaşılması hem de Doğu Akdeniz’de yaşanan son gelişmelerin enerji politikalarına etkisinin anlaşılmasına katkı sunması beklenmektedir. Ayrıca gelecekte belirlenecek enerji politikalarının perspektifi açısından da aydınlatıcı olması beklenmektedir.en_US
dc.description.abstractEnergy sector has gained utmost importance in the lives of individuals as well as countries, especially since the Industrial Revolution. This is evident for every country and nation as energy is a central element of human existence and activities. Therefore, this places energy producing countries at the centre of economic initiatives and competitions together with energy importing nations to have a solid energy strategy and policy. Technology and human activities require more sources on the one hand, and nations and governments are adopting new policies to meet the growing demand on the other. These policies constitute the main parts of the nations in terms of foreign relations and domestic politics. Turkey is not any different from other nations and therefore needs to provide an energy sufficient nation to declare its independence in the aspect and creating a boost for its foreign trade balance. Invesments in the sector, especially the reneweable ones is a priority, but it is not limited only to these areas as it has a long borderline with the Mediterranean Sea, where is a ground for rich energy sources. This thesis deals with the energy policies of Turkey to set a scene for the country’s deposities in the Eastern Mediterranean region, stemming from international law. Due to the strategic importance of energy and delicate international balances in the region, Turkey’s quest for its own legitamete rights in the region seems to provoke other govements around the coasts to show enmity agains Turkish interests. Turkey’s determination to protect its interests and the active involvement in the region has been evident for the region and therefore this is the way to become self-sufficient as far as the energy is concerned. This study deals with all these aspects with the intention of shedding a light to the domestic politics and international relations.en_US
