With the rise of globalization in the world, countries are becoming increasingly dependent on each other and the borders are gradually disappearing, and the trade volumes of the countries are increasing every year. This allows an increase in production all over the world, and the amount of consumption increases rapidly with the increase in the world population. On the other hand, this increasing production and consumption increases the energy demand rapidly with industrialization. Undoubtedly, one of the most important factors for a country to realize its social and economic development is energy. For this reason, the growth and industrialization of the world economies are increasing the dependence on energy and the amount of energy consumption is increasing every year. These dependencies of countries on increasing energy every year make it necessary to explain what factors determine the energy consumption. In this study, the factors that determine energy consumption are investigated. For this purpose, the factors that determine energy consumption BRICS-T (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Turkey) countries in particular, are analyzed for a period covering the years 1992-2018. In this study, direct foreign investments, energy prices and economic growth are used as the determining factors of energy consumption. Findings from the analysis of the study first confirm that the variables of foreign direct investment, energy prices and economic growth have a long-term relationship with energy consumption. Second, the findings obtained from analysis, direct foreign investment series is meaningful statistically in all countries, economic growth series is meaningful only for Turkey and China, while energy prices series shows meaningful the results as Russia, South Africa and in China.
