Özet
Geçmişten günümüze gazeteler de önemli değişim ve ilerlemeler olmuştur.
Gazetelerin içerikleri, haberlerin niteliği yanında estetik tasarımlar da okuyucu tarafından
aranan bir özellik olmuştur. İçerik yanında, içeriğin nasıl verildiği, dikkatin nasıl içeriğe
çekilmesi gerektiği, günümüz gazetelerinde önemli hale gelmiştir.
Bu çalışmada alanla alakalı literatür araştırılmış ve gazete sayfa tasarımı
prensipleri kapsamında Konya'da bulunan; on yerel gazetenin tipografik öğeleri
incelemiştir. Sayfa tasarım uygulamaları; harf (font) seçimi, tipografik açıdan ana ve ara
başlıkların kullanımı, metin düzeni ve sütun yapısı, boşluk (espas) düzenlemesi, dul ve
yetim sözcük hatası ilkeleriyle incelenerek analiz edilmiş ve betimsel şekilde
yorumlanmıştır.
Değerlendirmelerde görülmüştür ki, haber sayılarının artması, basılı yayında
görsel karmaşaya neden olabilmektedir. Bu görsel karmaşaların en önemlilerinden biri de
tipografik öğelerin kullanımıdır. Tipografik öğelerin belirlenen ilkeler kapsamında doğru
şekilde kullanılması, okuyucunun haberi anlayabilme seviyesini yükseltecektir.
There have been significant changes and advances in newspapers from past to present. In addition to the content of the newspapers and the quality of the news, aesthetic designs have also been a feature sought by the reader. In addition to the content, how the content is presented and how the attention should be drawn to the content has become important in today's newspapers. In this study, the literature related to the field was researched and within the scope of newspaper page design principles; analyzed the typographical elements of ten local newspapers. Page design applications; letter (font) selection, typographical use of main and subheadings, text layout and column structure, spacing arrangement, widow and orphan word error principles were analyzed and interpreted descriptively. It has been seen in the evaluations that the increase in the number of news can cause visual confusion in the printed publication. One of the most important of these visual complexities is the use of typographic elements. The correct use of typographic elements within the scope of the determined principles will increase the reader's level of understanding the news.
