| dc.description.abstract | Bu çalışmada İbn Sînâ ve Fahreddin er –Râzî’nin zaman konusundaki görüşleri ve aralarındaki ihtilafların değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Bu gayeyle iki düşünürün fikirleri karşılaştırmalı olarak değerlendirilmiştir. İbn Sînâ zamanın hareketin ölçüsü olduğunu ve dışta bir varlığa sahip bulunduğunu iddia etmektedir. O ayrıca meşşâî geleneğin zamanın varlığı konusundaki delil eksikliğini doldurmaya çalışmaktadır. Râzî ise Aristo’cu zaman tanımını kabul etmediği gibi kelam geleneğinde kendisine kadar hâkim görüş olan zamanın iki farklı olayı birbiri için vakit belirlemekten ibaret olduğu görüşüne de mesafelidir. O Eflâtun’a nispet edilen ve İslam düşüncesinde kendisinden önce Ebu’l-Berekât el-Bağdâdî gibi bazı düşünürlerce benimsenen zamanın hareketle ilişkisiz bir cevher olduğu görüşünü benimsemektedir. Bu tezde zamanın mahiyeti hakkındaki bu iki kadîm görüşün İbn Sînâ ve Fahreddin er-Râzî özelinde hesaplaşması incelenmektedir. Bu bağlamda dile getirilen görüşlerin düşünürlerin sisteminin bütünündeki yeri, delillerinin hareket noktaları ve bu deliller geçerli olması halinde kabul edilmesi gereken sonuçlar tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Ayrıca tarafların görüş ve delilleri mantıksal tutarlılık ve geçerlilik açısından değerlendirmeye tabi tutulmuştur. Yapılan bu değerlendirmeler sonucunda zamanın hareketle ilişkisiz bir cevher olduğu görüşünün daha kuvvetli olduğu tespitine ulaşılmıştır. Bununla birlikte bu görüşle ilgili sorunlar da ortaya konulmuştur. | |
| dc.description.abstract | The objective of this study is to evaluate the views of Avicenna and Fakhr al-Dīn al-Rāzī on the concept of time and to identify the points of contention between their respective positions. In order to achieve this objective, the ideas of the two thinkers are evaluated in comparison. Avicenna posits that time is the measure of motion and possesses an external existence. Additionally, he endeavors to address the dearth of evidence pertaining to the existence of time within the Peripatetic tradition. In contrast, al Rāzī does not accept the Aristotelian definition of time and distances himself from the view that time consists of timing two different events for each other, which was the dominant view in the theological tradition until his time. He aligns with the perspective attributed to Plato and embraced by select thinkers in Islamic thought, including Abu al-Barakāt al-Baghdādī, that time is a substance distinct from motion. This thesis examines the confrontation between these two ancient views on the nature of time in the case of Avicenna and Fakhr al-Dīn al-Rāzī. In this context, an attempt is made to determine the position of the views expressed in the system of the thinkers, the starting points of their arguments, and the conclusions that should be accepted if these arguments are valid. In addition, the views and arguments of the parties are evaluated in terms of logical consistency and validity. As a result of these evaluations, it was concluded that the view that time is a substance unrelated to motion is stronger. However, problems related to this view have also been revealed. | |
