dc.description.abstractİhvan-ı Safa'da Metafor başlıklı çalışmanın amacı İhvan-ı Safa'nın düşünce sisteminde hikayelerin ve metaforların yerini ve önemini tespit etmektir.İhvan-ı Safa'nın hikayelerini incelemeye başlamadan önce metafor kavramını ele aldık. Metaforun felsefedeki yerini tespit etmeye çalıştık. Pek çok filozofun çeşitli sebeplerle metafor kullandıklarını gördük. İkinci bölümde ise İhvan'ın hikayelerini inceledik. İhvan, cemaatinden olan ve olmayan insanlara kendi düşüncelerini somutlaştırmak ve onların daha iyi anlamalarını sağlamak için hikayelere başvurmuştur.Hikayelerde ise metaforu yoğun bir şekilde kullanmıştır. İhvan'ın seçmiş olduğu bu metaforik üslup hikayelerine farklı anlamlar yüklemeyi de mümkün kılmıştır. Bu yüzden İhvan'ın bu hikayelerle kendini gizlemeye çalışıp çalışmadığı tartışma konusu olmuştur.Biz ise çalışmamızın sonunda, siyasi konularda İhvan'ın metaforu gizlenme amaçlı kullandığı metafizik ve felsefi konularda ise somutlaştırma ve daha anlaşılır olmasını sağlama amaçlı kullandığını gördük.en_US
dc.description.abstractThis study, entitled Metaphor in Ikhwan al-?afa, is intended to discover the place and importance of stories and metaphors in the thought system of the Ikhwan al-?afa (the Brethren of Purity). Before examining the stories of the Ikhwan al-?afa, I analyzed, in the first chapter, the term "metaphor" and such cognate terms as allegory, analogy, symbol, simile, etc., trying to locate metaphor within philosophy. I found that many philosophers employed metaphors for various reasons. In the second chapter, I examined the stories of the Ikhwan al-?afa, who had recourse to stories with the aim of embodying their views to their followers and other people and helping them to better understand their views. They used metaphors extensively in their stories. This metaphorical style also allowed for interpreting their stories in different ways. Therefore, whether or not the Ikhwan al-?afa tried to conceal themselves through the metaphors has been a subject of long debates among the historians of Islamic philosophy. In the end, I came to the conclusion that the Ikhwan al-?afa employed metaphors in political matters to conceal their identies and in philosophical and metaphysical issues to make themselves clearer.en_US
