Umâre nübüvvetin on üçüncü yılında gerçekleşen II. Akabe Biatı’na iştirak eden iki hanımdan
birisidir. Hz.
Umm Umarah was from Najjar branch of Hazrej tribe and born in Medina. She and her family converted to Islam by the teaching of Musab bin Umair, who was sent to Medina to teach Islam by the Prophet of Allah. They were the first believers of Ansar as Muslims. Umm Umarah was one of the two women who participated in the Second Pledge of Aqaba, which took place in the thirteenth year of prophethood. She took part in many wars with the Prophet and made a big contribution in these wars, especially in the Battle of Uhud. Umm Umarah, who also participated in the war of Yamamah, which took place during the reign of Abu Bakr, showed a great example of heroism by keeping fighting, although she was wounded in many parts of her body and her hand was cut off. Umm Umarah, who was also a good mother, raised her children with islamic education and instilled them with the love of jihad. Her sons, Abdullah and Habib, joined Uhud, Khandaq and other battles together with the Prophet and eventually became a martyr. Umm Umarah is an example for Muslims with her personal traits such as courage, fortitude, perseverance and many others. She reminds us with her life once again that in Islam women are not excluded from life, but that they are actively in it. In this study it has been tried to convey all the narrations about Umm Umarah in the source of Islamic History in a way that will form a wholeness and be in accordance with the historical process.
