| dc.description.abstract | Özet: Bu çalışma, bir performans görevinden faydalanarak 6. ve 7. Sınıf öğrencilerinin matematiksel dili kullanabilme becerilerinin ne düzeyde olduğunu ve bu dili ne şekilde kullandıklarını tespit etmek, bu becerilerin cinsiyet ve sınıf düzeyine göre anlamlı bir farklılık gösterip göstermediğini ortaya koymak amacıyla yapılmıştır. Çalışmanın örneklemi Muğla il merkezinde bulunan ilköğretim 6. ve 7. Sınıflarda eğitim gören 118 öğrenciden oluşmaktadır. Veri toplama işlemi bu çalışma için amaca uygun olarak geliştirilen ?performans görevleri? formları kullanılarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Geliştirilen dereceli puanlama anahtarından faydalanarak elde edilen veriler betimsel istatistik teknikleri kullanılarak nicel, içerik analizi ile de nitel olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Verilerin analizi, öğrencilerin matematiksel düşüncelerini ifade ederken uygun matematiksel dili kullanmakta zorluk çektiğini; özellikle yenilenen müfredatta kavramsal yaklaşım üzerinde durulmasına rağmen bu uygulamada öğrencilerin çoğunun öğrenme alanına ait kavramları kullanma konusunda yetersiz olduğunu göstermiştir. Birçok öğrencinin matematiksel şekillerin, desenlerin çiziminde ve süslemelerin oluşturulmasında iyi durumda olmasına rağmen diğer ölçütlerde aynı başarıyı gösteremedikleri görülmüştür. Bu çalışma, performans görevinin uygulanması üzerine doğrudan yapılmış uygulamalı bir araştırma olması açısından önem taşımaktadır. Abstract: This study aims to determine primary students? mathematical language skills and the way that they use these skills. The study has been conducted with the help of performance tasks. The sample consists of 118 sixth and seventh grades students in the province of Mugla. The data has been collection by using two different forms of specially developed ?performance tasks?. The obtained data from the forms have been evaluated by using a rubric. Quantitative data have been analyzed by basic descriptive statistics methods, qualitative data have been used to explore statistical results and further explorations. Furthermore, some comparison tests have been conducted to test any statistically significant difference between grade levels and gender. The analysis of data has revealed that students have difficulty in using appropriate mathematical language while expressing their mathematical thoughts, and that most of these students fail to utilize educational concepts belonging to learning domains in this application even though conceptual approach is emphasized especially in the primary curriculum. In addition, it has been demonstrated that although most of the students are good at drawing mathematical shapes and figures and forming ornaments, these students cannot display the same success in other criteria. This study has a significant place in terms of being an applied research conducted directly on implementing performance tasks. | en_US |
