dc.description.abstractGeçtiğimiz son 50 yılda, turizm dünyada en hızlı gelişme gösteren sektörlerden biri haline gelmiştir. Turizm sektörü yaratmış olduğu sosyo-ekonomik etkilerden dolayı gelişmiş, gelişmekte olan ve az gelişmiş ülkeler için büyük bir öneme sahiptir. Turizm sektörü çarpan etkisi nedeniyle doğrudan ve dolaylı olarak birçok sektörlerle de etkileşim halindedir. Turizm sektörü, iç ve dış şoklardan (güvenlik, salgın hastalıklar, iç karışıklıklar, yönetim istikrarsızlıkları, siyasi kriz, doğal afetler, döviz kurları vb.) turist tercihleri aracılığıyla oldukça fazla etkilenmektedir. Turizm sektörünün bu şoklara açık durumu kırılganlıkları artırmaktadır. Turizm politikası geliştirilmesinde kullanılan turizm parametrelerinin gelen şoklardan kalıcı olarak etkilenip etkilenmediği ve bunların tarihleri karar alıcılar açısından oldukça önemlidir. Bu yüzden turist sayısı, turizm geliri ve ortalama turist harcaması serilerinin durağanlığı önem kazanmaktadır. Tezde 1965-2018 dönemine ait veriler kullanılarak, turist sayısı, turizm gelirleri ve ortalama turist harcamalarındaki şoklar ve tarihleri araştırılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde Fourier ve Yapısal Kırılmalı Birim Kök testleri kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular, turizm parametrelerinde yaşanan şokların kısa dönemde devam ederken uzun dönemde ortadan kalktığını göstermektedir. Yapısal Kırılmalı birim kök testlerinden elde edilen kırılma tarihleri (1970;1973;1974;1980; 1982; 1984; 1999:2002) ile ulusal ve küresel kırılganlıkların örtüştüğü görülmektedir. Politika yapıcılar açısından ortaya çıkan şok tarihleri ve kırılmalar turizm plan ve politikalarının şekillenmesi ve başarısı noktasında yol göstericidir.en_US
dc.description.abstractIn the past 50 years, tourism has become one of the fastest-growing sectors in the world. The tourism sector has great importance for developed, developing and underdeveloped countries due to the socio-economic effects that it creates. The tourism sector interacts directly and indirectly with many sectors because of its multiplier effect. The tourism sector is highly affected by indigenous and exogenous shocks (security, epidemics, internal disturbances, political instabilities, political crises, natural disasters, exchange rates, etc.) through tourist preferences. The situation of the tourism sector that is open to these shocks increases the fragilities. Whether the tourism parameters used in the improvement of tourism policy are permanently affected by incoming shocks and their dates are very important for policymakers. Therefore, the stationarity of series of the numbers of tourists, tourism income and average tourist expenditure series becomes important. In this dissertation, the shocks that occur in the number of tourists, tourism revenues and average tourist expenditure and their dates were examined by using the data from the period of 1965 to 2018. Fourier and Unit Root with Structural Break tests were used in the analysis of the data. Empirical findings show that shocks experienced in tourism parameters continue in the short-run however disappear in the long-run. It is observed that the breaking dates (1970; 1973; 1974; 1980; 1982; 1984; 1999; 2002) examined by the Structural Breaks unit root tests overlap with the national and global shocks. In terms of policymakers, emerging shock dates and breaks are enlightening in shaping and success of tourism plans and policies.en_US
