dc.description.abstractDünya'nın birçok ülkesinde sosyal güvenlik sistemlerinde yaşanan krizler, ülkelerin sosyal güvenlik sistemlerinde reform yapmalarını zorunlu hale getirmiştir. Yapılan reformlar neticesinde elde edilen başarılı sonuçlar IMF ve Dünya Bankası gibi uluslararası kuruluşlar ve birçok ülke tarafından yakından takip edilmektedir. 1999 yılında Tükiye ile IMF arasında yapılan Stand By anlaşması çevresinde uzun vadeli tasarruf kaynaklarının çeşitlendirilmesi amacıyla Bireysel Emeklilik Sisteminin oluşturulması önerisinde bulunulmuştur. Yapılan yasal düzenlemelerle, bireylere aktif çalışma dönemlerinde yapacakları tasarruflarla, sahip oldukları refah seviyelerini emeklilik dönemlerinde de koruyabilmeleri için ek bir emeklilik geliri sağlayan Bireysel Emeklilik Sistemi 2003 yılından itibaren uygulanmaktadır. Bireysel Emeklilik Sitemi aracılığıyla özendirilen tasarruflarla oluşan emeklilik fonlarının sermaye piyasalarında değerlendirilmesini finansal derinleşmeye pozitif katkılar yapması beklenmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı söz konusu derinleşmenin analiz edilmesidir. Bu amaçla Türkiye'de bireysel emeklik sisteminin finansal derinleşmeyi nasıl etkilediği, 2003-2015 yılı aylık verileri kullanılarak ekonometrik olarak tahmin edilmiştir. Bireysel Emeklilik Sistemindeki yatırıma yönlendirilen fonlar, Borsa İstanbul işlem hacmi, Sanayi Üretim Endeksi ve Tüketici Fiyat Endeksi değişkenlerinin kullanıldığı farklı tahminler, Türkiye'de bireysel emeklilik sitemi aracılığıyla oluşturulan fonların, finansal derinleşmeye pozitif katkılarının olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır.en_US
dc.description.abstractCrises in social security systems that occurs in many countries of the world have forced countries to reform their social security systems. The successful outcomes of these reforms have been closely monitored by international organizations such as the IMF, World Bank and many other countries. In 1999, the proposal for the creation of Private Pension System which was proposed with the aim of diversify long-term sources of savings as part of Stand By Agreement between Turkey and the IMF. Since 2003, the Private Pension System has been implemented in Turkey, which provides an additional pension income, so individuals can protect their welfare levels in their retirement periods with the help of savings that they will make during their active working periods. It is anticipated that pension funds, which are created through savings pushed through Private Pension System, are expected to make positive contributions to financial deepening in capital markets and it also forms the aim of this thesis. How the Private Pension System in Turkey affects financial deepening is estimated econometrically using the monthly data's of 2003-2015. The different estimates that are used in the consumer price index variable, Istanbul stock exchange trading volume, index of industrial production and funds invested in the Private Pension System reveal that the positive contribution of pension funds created through the Private Pension System in Turkey to the financial deepening.en_US
