dc.description.abstractİngiltere başpiskoposluğu yapmış olan William Temple, doğal teoloji ana temasıyla bir buçuk asırdır varlığını devam ettiren Gifford kürsüsünde 1932-34 yıllarında "Doğa, İnsan ve Tanrı" isimli ders serisini sunmuştur. Bu çalışma, William Temple'ın doğal teoloji anlayışını bu dersler üzerinden ele almayı hedeflemektedir. Doğal teolojinin gereği ve sınırlarının belirlenmesinin ilahiyat alanında önemli problemlerin anlaşılmasına katkı sunacağı düşünülmektedir. Bu bağlamda söz konusu derslerin rehberliğinde dinlerin doğal teolojiye gereksinim duydukları iddiası temellendirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Doğal teoloji, tüm dini ve din dışı görüşlerin kullandığı ortak bir yöntem olarak belirlenmesine rağmen dinin alternatifi gibi görülmesinin nedenleri incelenmiştir. Bilim, felsefe ve din alanlarında sınırların belirlenmesi aralarındaki ilişkinin sağlıklı olabilmesi için önem taşımaktadır. Bilim ve felsefe metodu kullanması sebebiyle doğal teolojinin sınırları belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Felsefe ve bilimin inanca gerek kalmayacak şekilde temellendirilmesinin imkânı tartışılmıştır. Konuyla doğrudan münasebetleri olması sebebiyle değer, vahiy ve tapınma olguları incelenmiştir. Bu çalışma; din, felsefe ve bilim ilişkisinin belirlenmesinde zihnin bu alanların tümüne ihtiyaç duyduğunu ortaya koyma gayesi üzerinde şekillenmiştir ve çalışmanın temel iddiası bu üç alan beraber ele alınmadan anlamlı yargıların kurulamayacağıdır.
dc.description.abstractWilliam Temple, who was the archbishop of England, presented the lecture series titled "Nature, Man and God" in 1932-34 at the Gifford chair, which has existed for a century and a half with the main theme of natural theology. This study aims to examine William Temple's understanding of natural theology through these lessons. It is thought that determining the necessity and limits of natural theology will contribute to the understanding of important problems in the field of theology. In this context, with the guidance of these courses, the claim that religions need natural theology has been tried to be justified. Although natural theology is determined as a common method used by all religious and non-religious views, the reasons why it is seen as an alternative to religion are examined. Defining boundaries in the fields of science, philosophy and religion is important for the healthy relationship between them. Due to its use of scientific and philosophical methods, the boundaries of natural theology have been tried to be determined. The possibility of basing philosophy and science in a way that does not require belief has been discussed. The phenomena of value, revelation and worship were examined because they are directly related to the subject. This study: It is shaped with the aim of revealing that the mind needs all of these fields in determining the relationship between religion, philosophy and science, and the main claim of the study is that meaningful judgments cannot be made without considering these three fields together.
