dc.description.abstractModernizm geleneksel toplumlardan farklı olarak yeni bir dünya anlayışı, yeni bir Tanrı tanımıyla ortaya çıkmıştır. Geleneksel toplumların varlığında önemli bir belirleyici olan din, modern döneme gelince acımasız eleştirilere tabi tutulmuştur. Ancak modern hayatın, sunduğu olanakların yanında birçok olumsuzluğu da beraberinde getirmesi, moderniteye olan inancın sarsılmasına neden olmuştur. Tam da bu noktada postmodernizm, modernizmin eleştirilen yönlerini telafi etmek üzere ortaya çıkmıştır. Modern dönemde geleneksel toplumlardaki etkinliğini ve değerini gittikçe kaybeden din, postmodern dönemde farklı özelliklerle karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Postmodern durumda din ne yeniden yükselişe geçmiş ne de toplumsal hayatta merkezi bir konuma gelmiştir bunlardan ziyade dinde bireyselleşme kavramı ön plana çıkmıştır. Bu araştırmada da postmodernite-din ilişkisi sosyolojik açıdan değerlendirilerek postmodern toplumlarda dinin önemi yeniden incelenmeye çalışılmıştır.en_US
dc.description.abstractUnlike traditional societies, modernism has emerged with a new consciousness of the world, a new definition of God. Religion, that is a quite important determinant in the traditional societies, has been subjected to brutal criticism in the modern period. However, the fact that modern life brings many negativities along with the possibilities it offers, has caused the belief in modernity to be shocked. Postmodernism has appeared to compensate for the criticized aspects of modernizm. Religion, that gradually loses its effectiveness and value in traditional societies in the modern period, shows up with different features in the postmodern period. In this period, religion has remained stable for social life. Besides in religion, the concept of individualization has stant out. In the present study, the significance of religion in postmodern societies has been tried to be re-examined by evaluating the relationship between postmodernity and religion in a sociological terms.en_US
