| dc.description.abstract | Ülkeler vatandaşlarının refah seviyelerini yükseltmek için ekonomik büyümeyi hızlı ve sürdürülebilir hale getirmeye çalışmaktadırlar. Sanayi devrimi ile birlikte gelişmiş ve gelişmekte olan ülkeler arasındaki refah farkının artması ile birlikte büyümeyi sağlayan nedenlere olan ilgi artmış ve bu alanda çalışmalar yapılmaya başlanmıştır. Büyümeyi sağlayan faktörler belirlenebilirse, hükümetlerin uygulayacağı politikalar ile refah seviyesi hızlı bir şekilde artırılabilecektir. Son dönemde finansal hareketlerin serbestleşmesi ve küreselleşmenin artan etkisiyle birlikte üzerinde en çok durulan konular arasında finansal sistem ve doğrudan yabancı sermaye yatırımları bulunmaktadır. Finansal sistemin ekonomideki fonksiyonları ve büyümeye olan katkılar literatürde en çok incelenen konulardan birisidir. Benzer şekilde üretimin uluslararasılaşması ile birlikte çok uluslu şirketler ve doğrudan yabancı sermaye yatırımlarının ülke ve dünya ekonomisine olan etkileri incelenmeye başlamıştır. Bu çalışmada finansal gelişmişlik, doğrudan yabancı sermaye yatırımları ve ekonomik büyüme arasındaki ilişki Türk ekonomisi için 1974 ile 2023 yılları arasındaki dönemde incelenmiştir. Fourier tipi birim kök, eşbütünleşme ve nedensellik testleri kullanılarak yapılan analiz neticesinde doğrudan yabancı sermaye yatırımlarından ekonomik büyümeye doğru bir nedensellik ilişkisi tespit edilememiştir. Ekonomik büyümeden, doğrudan yabancı sermaye yatırımlarına doğru nedensellik ilişkisi tespit edilmiştir. Elde edilen bir diğer sonuç ise finansal gelişme ile ekonomik büyüme arasında çift yönlü nedenselliğin olduğudur. | |
| dc.description.abstract | Countries are trying to make economic growth rapid and sustainable in order to increase the welfare levels of their citizens. As the welfare gap between developed and developing countries increased with the industrial revolution, interest in the causes of growth increased and studies began to be carried out in this field. If the factors that enable growth can be identified, the level of welfare can be increased quickly through the policies implemented by governments. Recently, with the liberalization of financial movements and the increasing impact of globalization, the most emphasized issues are the financial system and foreign direct capital investments. The functions of the financial system in the economy and its contributions to growth are one of the most studied topics in the literature. Similarly, with the internationalization of production, the effects of multinational companies and foreign direct capital investments on the country and world economy have begun to be examined. In this study, the relationship between financial development, foreign direct investments and economic growth was examined for the Turkish economy in the period between 1974 and 2023. As a result of the analysis using Fourier type unit root, cointegration and causality tests, a causality relationship from foreign direct capital investments to economic growth could not be determined. A causal relationship from economic growth to foreign direct investments has been determined. Another result obtained is that there is a bidirectional causality between financial development and economic growth. | |
