Özet
Bu çalışma Aristoteles'in ruh görüşünün zihinsel özellikler barındırması sebebiyle zihin kuramları içerisinde Aristoteles'in yerinin olup olamayacağını değerlendirmektedir. Aristoteles ruh görüşü ile kendisinden önceki anlayışlara bir eleştiri getirmekte, kendisinden sonra gelen bazı filozofları etkilemekte ve modern dönemde sistematikleşmeye başlayan zihin felsefesi kuramlarında yer alan bazı problemleri de tartışmaktadır. Bu çalışma ile Antik Yunan geleneğine önemli katkı yapmış olan Aristoteles'in ruh anlayışının zihin felsefesindeki bazı temel problemler açısından güncel bir değerlendirmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amacı gerçekleştirmek üzere çalışmanın içeriği birbirini temellendiren üç bölüm halinde oluşturulmuştur. İlk bölümde Aristoteles'in kendinden önceki ruh görüşlerine eleştirisi ve bu eleştiriler temelinde inşa ettiği kendi ruh anlayışı değerlendirilmektedir. İkinci bölümde Aristoteles ve Aristoteles sonrası ruhun zihne evrimi ve zihin felsefesinin temel problemlerini içeren zihin kuramlarına yer verilmektedir. Son bölümde ise Aristoteles'in ruh görüşünün zihinsel öğeler taşımasıyla birlikte zihin kuramları perspektifinden eleştirel bir okumaya tabi tutulmuş ve filozofun ruh anlayışının monist ve düalist yaklaşımlar açısından değerlendirmesi yapılmıştır.
This study evaluates whether –due to its mental features- Aristotle's soul vision can have a place in mind theories. Aristotle brings a criticism to previous understandings before him with his soul vision, influences some of the philosophers after himself and discusses some of the problems in the theories of philosophy of mind that have begun to be systematized in the modern era. With this study, it is aimed to make an up-to-date assessment of Aristotle's understanding of soul, which made an important contribution to the ancient Greek tradition, in terms of some basic problems in the philosophy of mind. In order to realize this aim, the studys content has been formed in three sections that base each other. In the first chapter, Aristotle's critique of his soul views before himself and his own understanding of the soul that he built on the basis of these criticisms are evaluated. In the second chapter, Aristotle, the evolution of soul to mind after Aristotle and the theories of mind, which includes the fundamental problems of philosophy of mind are given. In the last chapter, Aristotle's mental vision which carries mental elements has been subjected to a critical reading from the perspective of the theories of the mind. And also the philosopher's understanding of soul was evaluated in terms of monist and dualist approaches.
