dc.description.abstractÇoğunluğu gelişmekte olan ülkelerden oluşan İslam ülkelerinde inşaat sektörünün ekonomik faaliyetlerde önemli bir payı vardır. Bununla birlikte, sektöre yönelik yatırımlarını her geçen gün artıran bu ülkeler genelinde inşaat odaklı ekonomik büyümenin etkinliğine ilişkin çeşitli tartışmaların ortaya çıktığı söylenebilir. Bu tartışmalar ekseninde, inşaat sektörünün söz konusu ekonomilerdeki rolünün araştırılmasının önem arz ettiği görülmektedir. Bu çalışmada, İslam ülkeleri özelinde inşaat sektörü ile ekonomik büyüme arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi amaçlamaktadır. Çalışmada, verilerine ulaşılabilen 15 İslam ülkesi için 1995-2017 arası dönemi içine alan bir panel veri seti kullanılmıştır. Ekonometrik analizlerde Panel Veri Analizi kapsamındaki Panel Vektör Otoregresyon (VAR) modeli tercih edilmiştir. Ampirik analizlerin yapımında Eviews 10 programı kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada gerçekleştirilen analizler sonucunda İslam ülkelerinde inşaat sektörü ile ekonomik büyüme arasındaki ilişkinin ilk dönemlerde pozitif yönlü olduğu görülürken, dönem uzadıkça söz konusu ilişkinin tersi yönünde bazı bulgulara ulaşılmıştır. Buradan hareketle, incelenen ülke grubu kapsamında inşaat sektörü ve ekonomik büyüme ilişkisinin uzun dönemde istikrarlı bir yapıda olmadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bu kapsamda ulaşılan sonuçlar, kırılgan ülke ekonomilerinde inşaat sektörünün makro ekonomik şoklardan önemli ölçüde etkilendiğine ve istikrarlı bir ekonomik büyüme hedefinde sektöre yönelik politikaların yeniden gözden geçirilmesi gerekliliğine işaret etmektedir.en_US
dc.description.abstractIn Islamic countries, which are mostly developing countries, the construction sector has an important share in economic activities. However, it can be said that several debates have arisen regarding the effectiveness of construction-oriented economic growth in most of these countries, which increase their investments in this sector day by day. Based these discussions, it can be seen that it is important to investigate the role of the construction sector in these economies. This study aims to examine the relationship between the construction sector and economic growth in Islamic countries. In the study, a panel data set, covering the period 1995-2017 for 15 Islamic countries whose data were accessed, were used. In econometric analysis, Panel Vector Autoregression (VAR) model within the scope of Panel Data Analysis was preferred. Eviews 10 program was used in the empirical analysis. As a result of the analysis conducted in this study, it is seen that the relationship between the construction sector and economic growth in Islamic countries is positive in the first term, while some results have been found in the opposite direction in the long term. Based on this, it has been concluded that the relationship between the construction sector and economic growth is not stable in the long run within the scope of the country group examined. The results achieved in this study indicate that the construction sector is significantly affected by macroeconomic shocks in fragile economies and that the policies for the sector should be reviewed in order to achieve a stable economic growth.en_US
