dc.description.abstractBu araştırmanın amacı ortaokul 6. sınıf Türkçe dersinde Sokratik sorgulama yönteminin kullanılmasının üst düzey düşünme becerilerine etkisini incelemektir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda araştırmada nicel yöntemlerden öntest- sontest kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel desene başvurulmuş, verileri desteklemek amacıyla öğrencilerin Sokratik sorgulama yöntemine ilişkin görüşlerini almak üzere görüşme yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Konya İli, Meram İlçesinde bulunan bir özel ortaokulun 2016–2017 eğitim öğretim yılında 6. sınıfta okumakta olan 23 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Deney grubu 6 kız 6 erkek öğrenci olmak üzere 12 öğrenciden, kontrol grubu 3 kız 8 erkek olmak üzere 11 öğrenciden oluşmaktadır. Toplam 13 hafta süren çalışmada 9 hafta boyunca öğrencilerle Sokratik halkalar yoluyla ders işlenmiştir. Ders esnasında öğrenciler iki gruba ayrılmış bir grup iç halka ve bir grup dış halkayı oluşturmuştur. İkinci ders saatinde aynı metni tartışmak üzere halkalar yön değiştirmiş, iç halkadaki öğrenciler dış halkaya, dış halkadaki öğrenciler iç halkaya geçmiştir. Her hafta farklı bir metin (bir hafta da video izlenmiştir) üzerinde öğrencilerle Sokratik sorgulama yapılmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak Cornell Eleştirel Düşünme Testi Düzey-X, Torrance Yaratıcı Düşünce Testi, Eleştirel Okuma Ölçeği, Eleştirel Düşünme Düşünsel Standartlar Formu, Sokratik Halka Rubriği ve Öğrenci Görüşme Formu kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde son test olarak uygulanan ölçeklerde bağımsız örneklem t testi yapılmış, süreç esnasında doldurulan formlar ise çizgi grafiklerle açıklanmıştır. Araştırma sonunda Sokratik sorgulama yönteminin deney grubu öğrencilerinin eleştirel düşünme ve okuma becerilerine ve yaratıcı düşünme becerilerine olumlu yönde etki ettiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Ayrıca öğrencilerin genel olarak yönteme yönelik olumlu görüş bildirdiği görülmüştür. Araştırmanın sonucuna dayanarak Sokratik sorgulama yönteminin öğrencilerin üst düzey becerilerini geliştirmede etkili bir yöntem olduğu söylenebilir. Elde edilen bulgulara dayanarak araştırmacılara, yöntemin düşünme becerileri üzerinde etkililiğine ilişkin daha detaylı veriler elde edebilmek için Türkçe dersinden farklı derslerde ve farklı modellere başvurularak çalışmalar planlanabileceği konusunda önerilerde bulunulmuştur.en_US
dc.description.abstractThe aim of this study is to investigate the effect of using Socratic questioning method on higher order thinking skills in 6th grade Turkish lesson. For this purpose, a quasi-experimental design with pretestposttest control group was used in the study and interview was used to support the data. The study group of the study consists of 23 students who are in 6th grade in the 2016-2017 academic year of a secondary school in Meram district of Konya. The experimental group consisted of 12 students including 6 female and 6 male students and the control group consisted of 11 students including 3 female and 8 male students. In the study, which lasted for 13 weeks, the course was conducted with Socratic circles for 9 weeks. During the lessons, the students were divided into two groups, a group create the inner circle and the other group create outer circle. During the second lesson, the circles changed direction to discuss the same text, and the students in the inner circle moved to the outer circle and the students in the outer circle moved to the inner circle. Socratic questioning was conducted with students on a different text each week. Cornell Critical Thinking Test Level-X, Torrance Creative Thinking Test, Critical Reading Scale, Critical ThinkingIntellectual Standards Form, Socratic Circle Rubric and Student Interview Form were used as data collection tools. In the analysis of the data, independent samples t- test was performed in the scales applied as post-test, and the forms filled out during the process were explained with line graphs. At the end of the research, it was concluded that Socratic questioning method had a positive effect on students' critical thinking, critical reading skills and creative thinking skills. In addition, it was seen that students expressed positive opinions about the method in general. Based on the results of the study, it can be said that the Socratic questioning method is an effective method in developing students' higher order thinking skills. As a result of the interpretation of the findings with literature, suggestions were made for researchers and future studies. Based on the findings to obtain more detailed data about the effectiveness of the Socratic questioning on thinking skills these are adviced that a different dicipline from Turkish lesson the method can be applied and different models can be used in that studies.en_US
