Öğretmen Adaylarının Eleştirel Düşünme ve Empati Kurma Düzeylerine Sporun Etkisinin İncelenmesi

Özet
Yapılan bu araştırmanın amacı; beden eğitimi ve spor öğretmenliği bölümlerinde öğrenim gören
öğretmen adayları ile diğer bölümlerde (Resim, Müzik, Türkçe, Fen Bilgisi, Coğrafya, İngilizce, İlköğretim
Matematik ve Sınıf Öğretmenliği) öğrenim gören öğretmen adaylarının eleştirel düşünme ile empati kurma
düzeylerine sporun etkisinin incelenmesi ve tüm boyutları ile ortaya koyabilmektir. Araştırma betimsel
çalışma yöntemiyle yapılmıştır. Araştırma grubunu 2020-2021 Eğitim- Öğretim yılı güz döneminde
Necmettin Erbakan Üniversitesi Ahmet Keleşoğlu Eğitim Fakültesinde öğrenim gören toplam 379 öğrenci
oluşturmaktadır.
Veri toplama aracı olarak adaylara; araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan ‘Kişisel Bilgi Formu’, Kılıç ve
Şen (2014) tarafından Türkçe geçerlilik güvenirliği çalışmaları yapılan ‘UF/EMI Eleştirel Düşünme Eğilim
Ölçeği’ve Dökmen (1988) tarafından geliştirilen ‘Empatik Eğilim Ölçeği’ kullanılmıştır.
Elde edilen verilerin değerlendirilmesinde SPSS 22.0 paket programı kullanılmıştır. Verilerin
analizinde uygun test seçimi normallik testi sonucuna göre belirlenmiş ve ölçek puanlarının çarpıklık ve
basıklık değerlerinin -1/+1 aralığında olduğu görülmüş, bu nedenle analizlerde parametrik testlerin
kullanılmasına karar verilmiştir. Araştırmada ölçek puanlarının birbiri ile ilişkisi Pearson korelasyon testi
kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Ölçek puanlarının demografik özelliklere göre farklılık gösterip göstermediğini
incelemek için ise 2 gruplu değişkenler için Bağımsız Gruplar t- Testi, 3 ve daha fazla gruplu değişkenler
için ANOVA Testi tercih edilmiştir.
Beden eğitimi ve spor öğretmenliği bölümde öğrenim gören öğretmen adayları ile diğer bölümlerde
(Resim, Müzik, Türkçe, Fen Bilgisi, Coğrafya, İngilizce, İlköğretim Matematik ve Sınıf Öğretmenliği)
öğrenim gören öğretmen adaylarının demografik özellikleri eleştirel düşünme düzeyleri ile ilişkisi
incelendiğinde; yaş, cinsiyet, öğrenim görülen bölüm, başarı durumu, sınıf seviyesi ve baba eğitim durumu
değişkenlerinde anlamlı farklılığın olmadığı, anne eğitim durumu, spor yapma durumu, yapılan spor türü ve
spor yapma süresi değişkenlerinde sadece beden eğitimi ve spor bölümü öğretmen adaylarında anlamlı
farklılığın olduğu ortaya çıkarılmıştır. Diğer yandan öğretmen adaylarının sahip oldukları demografik
özelliklerin empatik eğilim düzeyleri ile ilişkisi incelendiğinde ise; yaş, öğrenim görülen bölüm, başarı
durumu, sınıf, anne ve baba eğitim durumu değişkeninde anlamlı farklılığın olmadığı, cinsiyet, gelir durumu
spor yapma durumu, yapılan spor türü ve spor yapma süresi değişkeninde beden eğitimi ve spor bölümü
öğretmen adaylarında anlamlı farklılığın olduğu ortaya çıkarılmıştır. Korelasyon Analizi sonucuna göre,
UF/EMI Eleştirel Düşünme Eğilimi Ölçeği toplam puanı ve Empatik Eğilim Ölçeği toplam puanı arasında
pozitif yönlü, anlamlı ve orta seviyede bir ilişki gözlenmiştir.
The aim of the study is to determine the levels of empathy and critical thinking of teacher candidates studying in physical education and sports teaching departments and teacher candidates studying in other departments and to reveal all dimensions. The research was carried out with the descriptive study method. The research group consists of 379 students studying at Necmettin Erbakan University Ahmet Keleşoğlu Faculty of Education in the fall semester of the 2020-2021 academic year. As data collection tools, the 'Personal Information Form' prepared by the researcher for the candidates, the 'UF/EMI Critical Thinking Disposition Scale' developed by Kılıç and Şen (2014) and the 'Empathetic Tendency Scale' developed by Dökmen (1988) were used. SPSS 22.0 package program was used to evaluate the obtained data. In the analysis of the data, the appropriate test selection was determined according to the results of the normality test and it was seen that the skewness and kurtosis values of the scale scores were in the range of -1/+1, therefore it was decided to use parametric tests in the analysis. In the study, the relationship between the scale scores was analyzed using the Pearson correlation test. In order to examine whether the scale scores differ according to demographic characteristics, the Independent Groups t-Test for 2-group variables and the ANOVA test for 3-group or more-grouped variables were preferred. When the demographic characteristics of the teacher candidates studying in the physical education and sports teaching department and the teacher candidates studying in other departments are examined, there is no significant difference in the variables of age, gender, department of education, success status, grade level and educational status of the father. It has been revealed that there is a significant difference only in the physical education and sports department teacher candidates in the variables of doing sports, type of sports and duration of doing sports. On the other hand, when the relationship between the demographic characteristics of the pre-service teachers and their empathic tendency levels was examined, it was found that there was no significant difference in the variables of age, department of education, achievement status, class, parental education level, gender, income status, sports status, type of sports and doing sports. It was found that there was a significant difference in the physical education and sports department teacher candidates in the variable of duration. According to the Correlation Analysis results, a positive, significant and moderate correlation was observed between the UF/EMI Critical Thinking Disposition Scale total score and the Empathic Disposition Scale total score.
