Myths are narratives that people have come up with in order to make sense of the events and facts about the world in which they have been living since ancient times, to be able to connect by them to various causes. These narratives are the cultural memory of societies and their transmission from generation to generation is important. In this transfer, the branches of art have a serious role. Mythological cultural elements that have survived to the present day with rock paintings, various weavings, reliefs and architectural structures in the past are preserved in many fields today, especially sculpture, painting and architecture. Especially after the proclamation of the Republic, mythological narratives began to take place in our art of painting in terms of bringing art down to the popular base, preserving cultural values and traditions, and introducing them to future generations. The equestrian-nomadic life of the Turks of Central Asia, their involvement in animal husbandry, and the frequent occurrence of animal elements in Shamanism have led to the prominence of animal symbols in mythological narratives. As a matter of fact, it is possible to come across animal figures in shamanic drums, rock paintings, various weavings. These symbols have managed to come to the present day starting with miniatures in Turkish painting art. after 1950, it continues to take place with an increasing momentum in contemporary Turkish painting art. In this study on the reflection of animal symbols in Turkish mythology in contemporary Turkish painting art, animal symbols used by important contemporary Turkish painters were examined and evaluated. In general, it has been seen that animal symbols are processed in accordance with their meanings in Turkish mythology in works, while sometimes it has also been seen that they have different meanings in the composition of works depending on the artist's imagination. On the other hand, it was understood that the works presented were useful from the point of view of cultural and traditional transmission and from the point of view of not alienating the younger generations from Turkish mythology.
