| dc.description.abstract | Bu çalışmanın amacı George Berkeley'in algı teorisini anlamaktır. Berkeley, radikal bir algı felsefesine sahiptir. O, idealist algı felsefesi ile madde kavramını çürütmüş ve idealar kavramını algının temeline yerleştirerek bilgi teorisini oluşturmuştur. Algı teorisini anlatmak için ise duyular, duyum ve idealar ile başlamıştır. Algı anlayışındaki bir diğer önemli nokta, zihindir. Burada insan zihni ve Tanrı zihni söz konusudur. Berkeley, "var olmak algılanmaktır." mottosu ile maddeyi hiçleştirmiş ve algının var olmasını zihnin varlığına atfetmiştir. Berkeley'i anlamak için kendisinden önceki ve sonraki dönemleri düşünmek gerekir. Berkeley'in algı felsefesinde, Rene Descartes ve John Locke'un önemi büyüktür. Madde ve zihin düalizmini savunan Descartes, madde vurgusunu azaltmış, Berkeley ise maddeyi tümden yok sayarak, zihnin varlığı üzerine çalışmıştır. Locke ise bilgi anlayışı ile Berkeley'i etkileyen bir diğer filozoftur. Locke'un nitelikler meselesi, ideası ve algısı, Berkeley'in felsefesini oluşturmasında bir adım niteliğindedir. Felsefede algı nedir sorusu daha çok duyu algısıyla sınırlandırılır ve algının doğası ve onu ilgilendiren süreçler incelenmektedir. Algı nedir sorusunun cevabı bilgi nedir ve nasıl elde edilir sorusuyla yakından bağlantılı olduğu için oldukça önemlidir ve çeşitli algı teorileri mevcuttur. Bu çalışmada, algı teorilerinden duyu verisi kuramları incelenecektir. Bu bağlamda, duyu verisi kuramları adı altında Bertrand Russell ve David Hume incelenmiş ve George Berkeley'in bu filozoflara etkisine bakılmıştır. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this project is to examine theory of perception in George Berkeley. Berkeley has a radical philosophy about perception. Berkeley rejects material world with his idealistic view; and instead of material reality, he puts ideas into his epistemology as a base. Berkeley starts his philosophy with senses, sensations, and ideas. Another important point in his philosophy is minds. What he means by minds is the minds of people and the mind of God. Berkeley's famous motto "Esse est percipi" refuses material world and the existence of perception for him requires perceiving minds. In order to understand Berkeley's theory of perception well, it would be better to study and observe the impacts of both Rene Descartes and John Locke on Berkeley's philosophy. Descartes questions the importance of material objects and Berkeley rejects the material world. Locke affects Berkeley in terms of primary and secondary qualities, ideas, and perception. Perception is limited to sense perception and the nature of the perception and related processes are the studied items. Perception is closely related to knowledge and how we gain it, which makes it significant in philosophy. There are different theories of perception. In this study, sense datum theories will be focused and the effects of Berkeley on Bertrand Russell and David Hume will also be investigated. | en_US |
