Özet
Bu çalışmada Türkmenistan’da okutulan ortaöğretim 7. sınıfta Kıtaların ve Okyanusların Coğrafyası ve 10. Sınıf Dünyanın ekonomik ve sosyal coğrafyası ders kitaplarında Türkmenistan’ın Dünya ülkelerine bakış acısının nasıl olduğu incelenmiştir. Çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden doküman incelemesi yapılmıştır. Veri kaynağı olarak Türkmenistan Bilim Bakanlığı tarafından 2019 yılında hazırlanan Ortaöğretim 7. sınıf Kıtaların ve Okyanusların Coğrafyası ve 2022 yılında hazırlanan 10. sınıfta okutulan Dünyanın Ekonomik ve Sosyal Coğrafyası ders kitapları doküman incelemesi yöntemi uygulanarak bulgulara ulaşılmıştır. Çalışmada doküman incelemesi yöntemiyle elde dilen veriler daha önceden belirlenen temalar doğrultusunda incelenmiştir. Araştırılan kitaplarda Türkmenistan’ın ortaokullarda okutulan coğrafya derslerinde Dünya’ya bakış algısını çözümlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Genel olarak her iki kitapta da öncelik olarak ülkelerin coğrafi konumu, fiziki coğrafyası, hidrografyası, yeraltı kaynakları, siyası coğrafyası, nüfusu gibi coğrafik özellikleri başlıklar halinde verilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucuna göre ders kitaplarında yer alan ünite konularında güncel ve doğru bilgiler içerdiği tespit edilmiş, fakat görsel öğelere yeterince yer verilmediği görülmüştür. Bu çalışmanın asıl amacı, Türkmenistan’da ortaokullarda okutulan coğrafya ders kitaplarında dünyanın nasıl algılandığını ortaya koymaktır. İncelemeler sonucunda, ilk kitapta fiziki coğrafya konularına daha fazla yer verildiği tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca, her iki kitapta da ülkelerin genel kültür bilgisine dair eksiklikler olduğu belirlenmiştir.
In this study, Turkmenistan's perspective on the world countries was examined in the 7th grade Geography of Continents and Oceans and 10th Grade Economic and Social Geography of the World textbooks taught in Turkmenistan. In the study, document analysis, one of the qualitative research methods, was conducted. The findings were obtained by applying the document review method in the Secondary School 7th grade Geography of Continents and Oceans textbooks prepared by the Ministry of Science of Turkmenistan in 2019 and the Economic and Social Geography of the World textbooks taught in the 10th grade prepared in 2022, as data sources. In the study, the data obtained through the document review method were examined in line with the previously determined themes. In the researched books, an attempt was made to analyze the perception of the world in Turkmenistan's geography lessons taught in secondary schools. In general, in both books, geographical features such as geographical location, physical geography, hydrography, underground resources, political geography and population of the countries are given as priority titles. According to the results of the research, it was determined that the textbooks contained up-to-date and accurate information on the unit topics, but it was seen that visual elements were not included enough. The main purpose of this study is to reveal how the world is perceived in geography textbooks taught in secondary schools in Turkmenistan. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that the first book included more topics in physical geography. Additionally, it was determined that there were deficiencies in the general cultural knowledge of the countries in both books.
