Özet
Ekoturizm, çevreyi koruyan, yerel halkın refah düzeyini gözeten doğaya duyarlı alternatif
ve sürdürülebilir bir turizm çeşididir. Değişen dünya düzeninde, bacasız sanayi olarak nitelendirilen
turizm de her geçen gün değişime uğramaktadır.
Turizm çeşitleri içerisinde doğayı korumayı amaç edinen; sürdürülebilirliğin sağlanmasını
her şeyin üzerinde tutan ve yerel halkın refahını gözeten en önemli turizm çeşidi ekoturizmdir. Her
geçen gün tahrip edilen doğal yaşam, özü değişen kültürler ve tehlike altındaki türler ile dünyamız
büyük bir tehlike altındadır. Şehirlere sıkışan insan nüfusu her geçen gün doğadan kopmakta ve
yalnızlaşmaktadır. Doğanın her zaman bir parçası olan insanoğlu, doğadan koptukça ve
farkındalığını yitirdikçe daha büyük bir boşluğa düşmektedir. Ekoturizm, doğanın bir parçası olan
insanoğlunu onunla yeniden buluşturmayı, farkındalığını artırmayı; doğayı korumayı ve
sürdürülebilirliği sağlamayı hedeflemektedir. Dünya genelinde ekoturizme yönelim son yıllarda büyük oranda artış göstermiştir. Birçok
ülke, ekoturizm ilkelerine bağlı yönetim anlayışları ile ekoturizmi benimsemiştir. Örnek
uygulamalar ile doğayı korumayı başarmış; bunun yanında yerel kültürleri koruyarak
sürdürülebilirliği sağlamayı başarmıştır. Aynı zamanda bu ülkeler, dünya genelinden birçok turisti
ülkelerinde ağırlayarak, milli gelirlerini artırmışlardır.
Bu akademik çalışmada, “International Handbook on Ecotourism” Kitabının Betimleyici Çeviri
Araştırması Çerçevesinde İncelenmesi yapılarak, Türkçe çevirisi yapılmıştır. Bu çalışma ile
Türkiye’de, ekoturizm alanında kaynak olabilecek bir çalışma yaparak, Türkiye’de ekoturizmin
gelişimine katkı sunulması hedeflenmiştir.
Ecotourism is an alternative and sustainable type of tourism that protects the environment, is sensitive to nature and takes care of the welfare of the local people. In the changing world order, tourism, which is characterized as a chimney-free industry, is also undergoing changes everyday. Ecotourism is the most important type of tourism that aims to protect nature among the types of tourism; keeps the provision of sustainability above all else and takes care of the welfare of the local people. With natural life being destroyed every day, changing cultures and endangered species, our world is under great danger. The human population squeezed into cities is becoming separated from nature and becoming lonely everyday. Humanity, which has always been a part of nature, falls into a bigger void as it breaks away from nature and loses its awareness. Ecotourism aims to reunite humanity, which is a part of nature, with it, to increase its awareness; to protect nature and to ensure sustainability. The trend towards ecotourism around the world has increased significantly in recent years. Many countries have adopted ecotourism with their management approaches based on the principles of ecotourism. It has managed to protect nature with exemplary practices; in addition, it has managed to ensure sustainability by protecting local cultures. At the same time, these countries have increased their national income by hosting many tourists from all over the world in their countries. In this academic study, Turkish translation of the book titled “International Ecotourism Handbook” was examined within the Framework of Descriptive Translation Research and Turkish translation was made. With this study, it is aimed to contribute to the development of ecotourism in Turkey by making a study that can be a resource in the field of ecotourism in Turkey.
