This study aims to investigate the physical effects of sound frequencies applied to water droplets stably suspended in air through the method of acoustic levitation in a contactless environment, with particular emphasis on the pitch frequencies of the Rast maqam within the Turkish music modal system, and the geometric patterns formed on the surface of the water. In the research, the behaviors exhibited by water solely under frequency excitation, without any contact with a solid surface, are observed. To this end, water droplets are levitated within a stable acoustic field generated by 40 kHz carrier ultrasonic waves and are exposed to various pitch frequencies. It is hypothesized that certain frequencies induce more regular vibrational and geometric surface patterns on the water droplets. Furthermore, the comparative evaluation of the 432Hz and 440Hz reference tunings is intended to be correlated with historical, theoretical, and experimental observations. In this respect, the study provides empirical data concerning the physical and vibrational foundations of the Turkish music modal system. Ultimately, the findings demonstrate that musical frequencies applied to water droplets in a contactless acoustic levitation environment particularly pitch frequencies derived from the Turkish maqam system produce measurable effects on the physical behavior of water and the formation of geometric surface patterns, thereby offering an interdisciplinary perspective that bridges musicology, acoustics, and the physics of water.
