Özet
Seyahatnameler tarih, coğrafya, sosyoloji ile ilgili bilgiler içermeleri sebebiyle XIX. yüzyıla kadar yan kaynak olarak görüldüğü için dil alanında üzerinde fazla çalışma yapılmamıştır. Bu çalışmada seyahatnamelerin gezi edebiyatının bir ürünü olduğuna, edebi bir tür olduğuna dikkat çekilerek, Arap edebiyatında ilk seyahatname özelliği gösteren eser olan İbn Fadlan'ın seyahatnamesi üzerinde duruldu. Giriş bölümünde seyahatnameler gezi edebiyatı eserleri olduğu için gezi edebiyatı hakkında bilgi verildikten sonra birinci bölümde Arap edebiyatında seyahatnameye, ikinci bölümde ise İbn Fadlan'ın seyahatnamesine değinilmiştir.
Since travelogues contain information about history, geography and sociology, there has not been much work in the field of language since they were seen as a side source until the XIX century. In this study, it is emphasized that travelogues are a product of travel literature, they are a literary genre, and the travelogue of Ibn Fadlan which is the first travel book in Arabic literature is emphasized. In the introductory section, after giving information about travel literature since travel books are travel literature works, travelogues in Arabic literature are mentioned in the first part and in the second part, the travelogue of Ibn Fadlan's is examined.
